The Smashbox 15 Hour Wear Hydrating foundation

So I’ve been trying to get back on the review/blogging band wagon but boy oh boy has my procrastination to do so been playing up, hence the lack of posts. I don’t know what it is about me, while most people procrastinate only the things they dislike I procrastinate 95% of everything I do. So ya’ll should appreciate seeing this post because as your reading this I probably chained myself in front of my lap top and dodged YouTube and binge watching criminal minds to write up this review.

Anyway I thought I’d kick off my absence from the blogging world by reviewing this killer foundation.
I can be just about the fussiest person you’ll ever meet when it comes to foundation. I mean I don’t ask for much yet it’s been a long time in the making searching for the ultimate foundation I felt comfortable calling my holy grail. SPOILER ALERT this is it! So what do I ask of a foundation you may be wondering right about now? First off let me tell you a bit about my skin – it’s pretty dry/dehydrated with a shiny t-zone yet I’m very blemish prone around the sides of my chin. So I don’t always expect a foundation to be super duper full coverage but I do like it to cover up the problematic areas and keep it covered throughout the day. I always use a heavy duty concealer but for some odd reason no matter what, quite often my blemishes don’t like to stay covered and usually begin peaking through 4 hours after application (It’s not cute!)

I also need my foundation to be hydrating besides long lasting. As much as possible I like it simulate skin like texture and not turn into a powdery cakey mess. By now you can begin to see those three elements aren’t often found in the same foundation. That was until I find this bad boy. Naturally I was reluctant to try this product out as I am with all high end makeup. But I was lucky enough to get a free sample from Mecca Cosmetica. It took me a few times before I could make up my mind on it but once I did it was love.
It’s super duper full coverage! That’s first of all; add this with a bullet proof concealer and girl you got an indestructible base in the making. Secondly it’s very very very long lasting. I’m talking water resistant, sweat and oil resistant the full shebang! And here’s the kicker it’s freakishly hydrating considering it contains both A and B. It doesn’t look powdery or cakey and feels very comfortable on the skin. In the cliff notes version I’ll be repurchasing this foundation till I’m over 80 and close to perfecting my winged eye liner skills.
I’m so confident in this foundation you guys, I’d even recommend it to oily skin girls.

See you very soon girlies, now that I’m on a roll I plan to sit here and write a bunch more posts. x

haha i think people procrastinate on the things they like to do too so you're really not alone. i mean…get me started on netflix and i'll procrastinate on almost all over activities 😛

i agree. i want my foundations to look like skin but have dehydrated skin too. this sounds like it would be a good one for me but colour matching is always the thing that stops me from loving a foundation.

I know how you feel, i'm not super duper pale but i do find that a lot of foundations never have a good shade for me, i was lucky for this foundation to have one even though it happened to be the lightest shade.

great blog. I have never heard much about smashbox foundations but I have always known that their products are good. I mean I have tried some of their products but their primers on me are just awful and I broke out terribly yet I still keep the product but I think I am going to have to get a sample from somewhere. Your review was incredible and it was so detailed.

Thank you so much. I know it's a shame when a certain make-up product that you really want to like breaks you out. If you can get a sample i recommend it, this foundation is brilliant.

When I bought this ages ago I bought “light” and it was like 156 shades too dark 🙁
I couldn’t afford to buy another one so it’s still sitting in the closet, that’s what happens when you buy off ebay haha. I couldn’t be bothered to return it, could probably mix it with a super duper light foundation to make it work again?

Yes whenever a foundation doesn’t shade match me I mix it with another, I recommend one that’s a little more hydrating or (watery) it will make blending it out so much easier.
