So I’m willing to bet that this little babe that I’m planning to talk about today you would have probably heard through the makeup vine. I know that there are about a million assumptions and myths about this product and I’m not really going to go into them because I can’t really be bothered if I’m being honest. And truthfully I’m here to tell you if this product is good and worth your money. All that other crap isn’t relevant. So if you completely headache free and have absolutely no idea what this product is about let me give you the low down. It can be one of two things. A face/setting powder if you fair skinned and have yellow undertones and an under eye concealer setting powder if your fair skinned or even tanned and want a noticeable brightening effect underneath the eye. You can use it for one or the other or both or walk around with a bucket on your head if you’d prefer. I personally use it for both but I more lean towards under eye setting. This may seem like a silly over kill step and at first I thought it was but let me tell you about the difference this bad boy makes to that small portion of your face. First off it sets your concealer and helps the creasing reduce if not stop it all together. Trust me when I say aint nothing worse than you’re under eye concealer either not lasting or creasing. I’ve noticed a massive difference in the lasting effects of my concealer; so much so that I’ve been able to appreciate the concealers I use for dark circles much more than I use to, this powder allowed them to work better!
Obviously it’s called banana powder for a reason, it’s yellow in color. This means it helps counter act those pesky dark circles and brightens up that naturally dark area. The darker your skin tone the more dramatic but if you’re quite dark I’d look into the other powders from Ben Nye as there are quite a few different shades that will still allow you to achieve a brightened look if you have a deeper skin tone. Keep in mind if you are extremely pale this may not give you a brightening effect at all, especially if you don’t have any yellow undertones. The powder is very finely milled and just sits well in that area.
The product comes in three generous sizes; I personally suggest the largest size which is almost $24. It may seem like a lot but the size it comes in could easily last you up to 2 years if not more since a little goes a long way. Shipping is just under $10 if you order from lime light company which I highly recommend. This product has become a daily staple for me, whether my makeup is very minimal or much more, I use this product. You definitely get a large bang for your buck I cannot envision doing my makeup without it.
Let me know if you guys have tried this product out before and what you think, see you peeps next time. x
