Annnnddddd I’m back! (sorry grammar nazi)
I can’t tell you guys how good it feels to be off from university for a while. Being able to chill out in pj’s, catching up on my shows and doing all things makeup is so what I need right now. So that’s what I’m doing!
When I pretty much realized doing monthly favorites wasn’t my thing I thought of another way to update you guys on what products I have been loving. This way I’m not tied to posting at the beginning of each month and when the list naturally builds up over however long I can do another one. If you guys want to see any non-beauty related posts let me know in the comments.
I have been loving these products like crazy and I find them in my consistent beauty rotation so Ima jump in and begin telling you all about them.
1. Makeup Revolution contour kit – Fair
I could kick myself for not picking up a backup of this gem with my last makeup revolution order. It’s such a nifty little thing with the bronzing shade being on point. Not only does it give you a natural contour, it also serves as an awesome ‘transition’ shade for contouring when you want your contour to be full on. I’m going to talk about using a transition shade for contouring in another post but basically it makes blending so much easier. Another reason I love it is for its use as an eyeshadow. Both a transition shade and a super easy eyeshadow look where I apply it over the lid and blend it into the crease! I do wish I could get the contouring shade separately as I know I’m going to hit pan on it super-duper fast. The blush in the kit is also very pretty and I love using the highlighter in my inner corners and for brow bone highlighting. This product has been a daily thing for months now.
2. Makeup Revolution All about bronze palette
Being an honorary pale girl, this contour kit phenomenon has pretty much made us feel left out. I mean with fair skin comes the burden of everything being too dark. At best one of the shades will sort of work but then the rest have us looking like we took a roll in the mud. This awesome palette is the closest thing we will ever come to the perfect contour kit for a pale girl. That darkest shade is not even too dark the rest are natural and have us getting a contour on fleek! It also doubles as a dream eye shadow palette I mean warm neutrals? YASS please.
3. Ren Glycoactic radiance renewal face mask
I have always been so reluctant to try this face mask. I do love my skincare but when it comes at 60 or so bucks a pop you can’t help but procrastinate. I pretty much go through my skincare products like water, unlike makeup which surprisingly always lasts longer than I think it will. But let me tell you know this bad boy is worth it. My skin feels like a dream after using and that dreamy feeling doesn’t disappear too quickly either. I mean you’d hope so considering it’s price. My skin really feels so much better when using it, I’ll go into more detail in the review but it’s a face mask totally worth it!
4. Simple Micellar water
If you haven’t been noticed how rapidly micellar waters are becoming are thing then I don’t know where you’ve been. I’ve tried bioderma which I did love but I wasn’t keen on spending 40 bucks a bottle so I was very happy to see my affordable options coming out! I did try the Garnier micellar water but I swear to my skin does not like that brand. Everything I’ve even tried from them skin wise has broken me out like a mother! Let’s just say I’ve sworn off that skincare brand for life. This micellar water on the other hand I’m happy to report hasn’t broken me out an it’s been great to use after I remove all my makeup off. It gets rid of those little traces left behind and I’m kind of OCD to making sure every spec of my makeup comes off. It’s only $10 a bottle and I already have a backup since this will be a permanent thing in my skincare regime.
5. Australis contour kit
This has been in a favorites post before but I definitely had to mention it again! It’s a very versatile kit. Not only are the contour shades awesome for just that – contouring. I also love using them as eye shadows. The yellow shade is great for setting your concealer as well as the light matte shade. I personally apply the matte highlighter underneath my contour to make it pop! (as well as an eyeshadow in itself. And of course the shimmery highlighter is awesome for cheekbones and as a pretty and simple eye shadow.
6. Makeup revolution single blush – treat
I’m a self-professed blush addict so when I see affordable blushes I cannot resist. These blushes are about 2 aussie dollars a pop and they’re actually really good. Add that it’s a coral-orange-ish shade and be still my heart. They packaging makes it pretty easy to store and travel with so you literally could not ask for more!
7. Makeup revolution dual brow arch – Darkest
I thought I’d end this post with a product I use for two completely different things. While both ends of this product are obviously intended for the brows, one end is crayon like which is the side I use to lightly fill in my brows. The other side is felt tip like and while it’s far too dark and pigmented and strange for my brows it makes a perfect eyeliner, especially for doing winged eyeliner! Long lasting and pigmented. This would be spectacular to travel with as you have your brows and eyeliner covered in one little product!
That’s it for this post lovely internet people. There will be more of these posts to come, when exactly will depend but I’ll always keep you’s updated on what products I’ve been obsessed with. Have an awesome day and I’ll see you all soon! Cio. x
