Hey hey hey lovely people!
I feel like over the past year I have become a massive eyeshadow palette junkie. Like I literally can’t help myself. I’ve been finding some really awesome ones that are super-duper affordable. So ya’ll going to be seeing a lot of eyeshadow related reviews pop up, consider yourself forewarned. Okay so let’s get on with the first of many eyeshadow palette reviews to come.
Shade selection: The palette has a really great selection of neutral colors. You can create some natural eyeshadow looks and some great dramatic ones as well. There are more shimmery shadows in this palette than matte. The matte eyeshadows include ‘tawny’, ‘sand dune’, ‘Brunette’ and ‘Blackest’.
Pigmentation: All the shades are well pigmented. I wouldn’t call the pigmentation mind blowing. But I don’t have any problems with building the color when I use this palette.
Is there any fall out?: Little to no fall out from these shadows.
Do they blend well?: They blend very well, you got to be a bit careful you don’t blend the color completely away.
Finish of the shades: A couple of the shades are matte, which I listed previously. The rest have a shimmer/lustre finish. Nothing overly glittery or tacky.
Availability: The makeup revolution site which ships internationally. UK peeps should find this in stores.
Wearability: This isn’t one of those annoying palette that has very dramatic colors that are hard to work with. You can create the simplest eyeshadows looks with this palette and much more noticeable ones as well.
Packaging: When you first purchase this palette, it’s slightly tricky to open but it does get looser over time so there’s no problem there. My only issue which I have with a lot of palettes from makeup revolution is that I wish the packaging was a bit more distinct. This palette is virtually identical on the outside in comparison to the affirmation palette, flawless mattes and mermaids forever palette. It is only when you flip it to back where you see which one it is. Nothing overly dramatic but it sometimes annoys me. The blush palettes have this very same issue.
Who would like this?: Fans of neutral eyeshadows, people who don’t like to spend a lot of money on eyeshadow palettes, those who want good quality for half the price. Also people who aren’t looking for a palette with a lot of matte eyeshadows.
Who wouldn’t like this?: People who have a higher tendency to wear only matte eyeshadows, those who have a preference to really glam eyeshadow looks, rarely wear anything simple. I also feel like I should inform you guys, since there are 32 eyeshadows within the palette each eyeshadow pan isn’t particularly large. It is sufficient enough but if you have a preference for a particular shade, you’ll hit pan on it quicker than the rest.
Would I repurchase this?: Yes I would. Though I see in my future a great deal of eyeshadow hoarding so the purchase will probably be delayed.
Overall thoughts: It’s affordable, versatile and very pretty. You can create all sorts of eyeshadow looks with it. You really can’t go wrong with this palette.
That’s it for the post guys. What eyeshadow palettes have you been loving lately? Any of them drugstore? Tell me in the comments below and I’ll see you guys in the next post.
