Clarins Instant Concealer

Hey there internet peeps! It’s time for another review and today I wanted to talk about this lovely concealer that is simultaneously talked about and yet unheard of all at once.
Let’s kick things off!

Coverage: I feel like it’s on the fence between medium and full coverage. It definitely covers everything it needs to cover though I can’t confidently call it full coverage. It can be made full coverage but I wouldn’t say it’s straight up full coverage.
Longevity: It lasts a pretty decent amount of time. It doesn’t stand out as a crazy long lasting concealer but it’s not poor in longevity. I’d say the product by itself wouldn’t last absolutely all day, but when you take into account primer, obviously setting the concealer, maybe a setting spray. When you take all those steps into account that you’d mostly likely do regardless of what concealer you use, longevity is definitely not an issue with this concealer.
Formula: The formula of this concealer is what makes this product amazing. It’s by far the best concealer I have for under the eyes, it sits so well despite of my under eye area being a hot mess. It’s hydrating and creamy, thin in consistency but still has good coverage.
Packaging: Standard squeezy tube packaging which makes it easy to use.
Under the eyes or for spots?: Because I love it so well for underneath the eyes I personally use it there. This would also be good for covering redness and I don’t see why it wouldn’t be good to use for spots. I recommend to avoid using it for active blemishes because of its creamy and hydrating formula, it wouldn’t last well on an active oily producing blemish.
Who would like it: Those who have severely dry under eyes, like a good coverage concealer, are looking for a good hydrating concealer, don’t mind spending the money.
Who wouldn’t like it: Those who are looking for a crazy long lasting concealer that would survive a nuclear war.
Price: $40.00 AUD
Shade range: Only three shades so not a large range of options.
Availability: Myer and David jones, unless you can find it online.
Overall thoughts: This is a pretty great concealer. What stands out mostly to me is just how well it sits underneath the eyes and that’s usually a problem for me. It’s really good quality and you can’t go wrong with it.
Rating: 8.5/10
Would I repurchase it?: Yes.

That wraps up this post guys. If you have tried this concealer out tell me your own thoughts about it? I’ll see you guys in the next post, I hope you all have an awesome day.

This sounds great for the undereye areas, I've been wanting to try this for a while. I'm not sure there would be a light enough shade though!

It's the perfect formula for underneath the eye. Yes the shade range is quite limiting being that there's only three but it won't hurt to go to a clarins counter to get a swatch of the lightest shade.

Yes they definitely need more shades, I know drugstore brands that have more shade options than clarins.

I typically enjoy most products that I've tried from Clarins and this one sounds great too! I'm not looking for my concealer to last a nuclear war (haha!) or cover a multitude of sins (I don't suffer from a ton of darkness in the under-eye) but I do love the fact that you said it's hydrating and creamy. Definitely worth taking a look at! Great review, Xx

This does sound really good but the fact the shade range is so minimal is putting me off completely as I would pick the lightest shade and it would probably be too dark for me!

The lasting powder is really hard to figure out with this one, I wouldn't say it's bullet proof it's quite hard to make a product so incredibly hydrating and long lasting all at once. But I don't notice any obvious issues with lasting power throughout the day with this concealer.

    February 17, 2016 at 9:12 pm

I'm just surprised a high end brand has such a limited shade range, it such a shame but the lightest is shade is still pretty light in my opinion, get a sample or possibly swatch it you may be surprised.

Yes, oddly enough Clarins doesn't get enough chatter about it, it doesn't have the pizazz other brands do that draw attention but this concealer is wonderful and this brand has a nice range.

[…] In terms of how well this sits underneath my eyes, this concealer is my favorite for that. The formula is some kind of voodoo magic, it just sits so well underneath the eye. It’s not crazy coverage but for dark circle it does a great job and you can always apply a corrector underneath for a boost of coverage. It does only come in three shades though which is a bummer. | Review | […]

[…] Clarins instant concealer | you want to cover up those dark circles but you also don’t want it to look to heavy under there. If you need the extra coverage, wearing a corrector underneath will do the trick. (yes you can still set your concealer, if you feel like you don’t need to because it won’t crease or budge you can skip it but setting it with any powder or the powder you set your foundation with is fine). |Review| Mac studio fix concealer | In a perfect world a skin would be without blemishes but it ain’t a perfect world. Spot concealer is nifty especially because you can cover up the blemishes but still keep the rest of your facing looking natural. |Review| […]
