Makeup Revolution ‘Iconic 1’ Eye shadow Palette

Well hello there my favorite humans!

Yes I have been not so good with the posts. My bad yet again, over 3 weeks (this week and the following 2 weeks) I have 5 different assignments due. So it’s been not so easy to focus on the blog. But I do promise i will be better with the posting.

Some of my favorite things include drugstore makeup and hoarding eye shadow palettes. Put those together and today’s post is a review of a particularly affordable eye shadow palette from a wonderful brand known as makeup revolution.

Here we go!

Shade selection:In regards to shade selection this is another one of those eye shadow palettes that have an urban decay naked 1 palette vibe to it. By that I mean neutrals with 1 or 2 navy blue shades at the end. The shade range itself is pretty versatile, neutral shades excluding the navy blue option. You can make subtle eye shadow looks and pretty intense eye looks with this.

Pigmentation:Pigmentation is quite awesome for the price. I wouldn’t say its mind blowing and a few of the shades are better applied to the lid with you finger but it doesn’t make applying your eye shadow a difficult task.

Is there any fall out?: Minimal, nothing to cause alarm. You may notice it only slightly with the darker shades but that is something you can sweep off your face with a brush.

Do they blend well?: Quite well! They aren’t chalky or formulated in a way wherein you get an arm cramp trying to blend it out yet they aren’t so blendable you accidentally blend the eye shadow away.

Finish of the shades: There are a couple of matte shades in this palette. Shade 1, 3 and 5 from the left of the palette are matte, the rest are shimmer. Unfortunately there are no dark brown matte shades.

Availability: The makeup revolution sitewhich ships internationally and I believe within the UK you can find this brand in store.

Price: $8.47 AUD

Wearability: You can create both simple eye shadow looks and intense ones from this palette and being that they are all neutral the palette is definitely wearable to a large degree.

Packaging: Standard packaging. It does come with one of those cheap eye shadow sponge applicators one would use as a child. You can disregard that but the packaging has a clear lid so you can see the shades inside the palette.

Who would like this? Fans of drugstore eye shadow palettes / neutral shade lovers / those who like both shimmery and matte eye shadows

Who wouldn’t like this? Those who only like crazy pigmentation, ones who like super natural eye shadow palettes / those who are looking for an enormously dramatic eye shadow palette / those who want a large amount of matte shades in the eye shadow palette

Rating: 8.5/10

Overall thoughts:This is a great eye shadow palette! It’s versatile, with pretty shades, super affordable with awesome pigmentation. I don’t have any complaints about this one, it’s a great palette.

Would I repurchase this?: Though I have a lot of eye shadow palettes, like a ridiculous amount I would repurchase it because I find it useful for a lot of eye shadow looks.

That wraps up today’s reviews ma peeps! Have you tried this eye shadow palette or any from the makeup revolution brand? What drugstore eye shadow palettes have you guys been loving lately? Let me know in the comments below. I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you guys in the next post.

I just took a few weeks off blogging too, nice to see you back on board! Damn pesky life always gets in the way -_-

I've tried the Makeup Revolution palettes before and they are pretty good quality for the price I think! The colours are quite good too, reminiscent of a few Naked palettes 🙂

I always feel bad when I haven't been consistent. I mean I literally have 160 + pre written posts. But then some of them need to have photos retaken, I obviously need to space out reviews from non-reviews, make sure the blog series are evenly spaced out and of course read other people's posts and blog promote. I always forget how many dang things go into blogging, though it's still my favourite thing in the world.

and the brand has come out with lots of new stuff AND empty magnetic palettes you can custom make.
