Real Techniques Buffing Brush

Well hello there wonderful humans

Its review time, I happen to be a makeup brush addict so that all adds up to today being a review of a makeup brush. Ramblings aside lets lock and load and jump right in!

Its use?: Ideally I use it to apply foundation but it could be used for other means, possibly bronzer and blush (cream blush especially). The idea of the brush is that it buffs out the product, ideal for blending.

Is it part of a set of can it be individually purchased?: Unfortunately it’s only available as a set in the real techniques core collection.

Does it do a good job?: Yes it does. I just use it for foundation but it blends it out very well. I’m always happy with my foundation when using this brush.

What I personally use it for?: To apply foundation

Shape?: It’s the same shape as a flat top kabuki brush only the brush hairs themselves are much longer and the brush is slightly denser than your average flat top kabuki.

Pros: Applys foundation really well, a great size for a foundation brush (not too large, not too small), the brush hairs are soft and synthetic so it works well with liquid/cream products.

Cons: Only available in the core collection set, gets product build up fairly quickly so it requires very frequent washing.

Price?: The brush set is $25.20 AUD off Iherb.com

Rating: 8.5 / 10

Do I have multiples?: Unfortunately no as its only available in a brush set but I’d love to have multiples since it’s that good.

Overall thoughts?: This brush is an excellent foundation brush, it’s great for beginners as it really helps apply the foundation and blend it well without much technique. It’s affordable and real techniques in general is a fantastic brand. This gets two thumbs up from me.

Would I repurchase it?: I wouldn’t object to repurchasing the set as it also has the contour brush which I’m a huge fan of. You can expect a review of that brush as well.

That wraps up the post ma peeps! Have you guys tried this brush or other real technique brushes? Tell me your thoughts in the comments below. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I’ll see you in the next post.

I used to love this brush at the start when I used it for foundation but after a while I found that the bristles were becoming dry, harsh and horrible when applying the foundation to my face. I don't know whether I'd repurchase it as the set I dislike the core set!

It can that way I've noticed but when I've just washed it I find it does the job well. I just wish this brush, the multi-tasking brush and the contour brush were available to purchase separately I don't want to repurchase a whole set when there are specific brushes I prefer. x

It's so good and it just does the job well, I really wish it was sold separately. And thank you so much I am glad you like it. x

I really love the buffing brush and have been using it for years, but I want a new one and just WISH they'd sell it separately as I don't really need the other brushes, so annoying!

I used to use this for my bronzer, it;s very versatile. I prefer the Expert Face brush for foundation, it's the perfect shape.

I love this brush and I'm always reaching for it when applying my foundation! The rest of the core collection also has great brushes inside, particularly the contour brush, I use that for multi uses xx

It's definitely awesome I definitely agree the one thing that puts me off real techniques is that they don't always have the option to by a brush individually which is annoying.

I haven't tried it for bronzer I definitely need to try it for that.

I've always wanted to get this brush, but never have since it comes in a set. I have the Expert Face Brush instead, which is still pretty good.

Yes it's the one thing that puts me off real techniques and that has me buying makeup brushes off Ebay, Wish & Aliexpress it's that they don't have brushes individually.

It sometimes depends on the foundation you use. I don't use this brush with foundations that are super full coverage and tricky to blend.
