The Beauty Favorites Edit | 5

Hey you lovely peeps. I’ve only been post uni a few days but I knew the first post I had to write up now that I have some free time is a beauty favorite’s post, since it has been a bloody long time since my last one. Click on the corresponding numbers to see them. (1, 2, 3, 4). This is going to be a LONG post, so you may want to grab a snack or beverage or both!

Let’s jump right in!

Nyx Matte Bronzer

This was quite a random purchase. I usually do CIA level research when I buy any makeup products because I like to minimize those disappointing occurrences that can happen when you randomly buy a makeup product that ends up sucking. But this one I didn’t do any research on. I mean it is a bronze and how bad can a bronzer be, really? So I picked it up and the amount I reach for it for is crazy. It’s pigmented, bendable and non-chalky. I use it for contouring more as it does the trick to me but since it leans to the warm side more I don’t go in with a sun kissed bronzer beforehand and then contour (which is what I usually do). I just applies it straight up and it looks like I’ve also gone in with a sun kissed bronzer. I don’t find it too orange either but my skin does have yellow undertones so keep that in mind. I have very recently reviewed this, click here to read it.

Too face Born this way foundation

Yes this is a quite talked about foundation and I love it to pieces! It literally makes you look like you have really flawless skin and it isn’t really detectable. Its full coverage, easily blendable, comes with a pump and many shades. I can’t say anything bad about this. The first time I wore it, I was like WOAH. If you are looking for a full coverage foundation that won’t make your skin’s texture look weird you must try it out! I did a first impression on this foundation, click here to see it!

Sleek solstice highlighter kit

I am a highlighter junkie and I am talking beaming cheek bones regardless of where I am going. So when people began talking about this I was like say no more. I also picked up the one in the greyish / black packaging but I prefer this more. This is such an awesome drugstore highlighter and drugstore brands don’t always get highlighters right. They’re either to natural for my liking or glittery and tacky. Not this one. It makes your cheek bones gleams. It comes with a champagne shade, a lavender shade, a cream beige highlighter and an off white highlight. I love all of them. I usually mix all the powders together and then sweep it over my cheek bones. And no the lavender doesn’t look weird, you barely notice the purple tones on your skin!

Color pop blush – between the sheets

I have the shade ‘between the sheets’ but as a whole I love the color pop blushes. Typical cream blushes are so bloody difficult to apply, I mean I really have tried to get into them but cream blushes are such a biatch. These color pop blushes however are so easily to apply, they aren’t annoying pigmented where the tiniest swipe makes you look like you’ve been accepted to clown college. These one’s are somewhere between sheer – ish and pigmented. Basically you get control over how intense you’d like them. They do set quickly so be sure to blend it out but once it sets it doesn’t budge and lasts the majority of the day. So if you have been on the lookout for a long lasting blush that isn’t pricey. Check these ones out.

Makeup geek eye shadows

Let me paint you peeps a picture on how much I BLOODY ADORE these makeup geek eyeshadow – basically I am doing a blog series that will soley focus on makeup geek. I am so in love it is not funny. I have made 3 orders over 2 months and now I have a extra large z palette and a large z palette BOTH FULL of makeup geek shadows. They are pigmented, blendable, the shade range is heaven, and you can pick and choose what you want and still have the convenience of a palette. If you could have a soul mate in the form of makeup, these babies are it! (yes the picture shows a few shadows but trust me I have way way more.

Maybelline master conceal

I am a big fan of Maybelline concealers, that shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. So when I saw this one pop up in stores I had to try it. It’s an awesome concealer! It sits nicely under my eyes, is easy to blend, doesn’t crease and covers my dark circles.  2 thumbs up from me.

A Sephora makeup brush dupe off alliexpress

Pretty much 95% of my makeup brushes come from random sites like ebay, wish or alliexpress. Aside from real techniques. When you know what you are looking for you can find some awesome makeup brushes that do the job as good as any fancy ass brand. I don’t know what it was about this brush but it just caught my attention and I was like *add to cart* what I love it for is applying highlighter. That’s not a typical thing for me to say when it comes to brushes because I haven’t found a life changing brush to apply highlighter with, I sort of bounce around. This brush is dam good at applying highlighter, I won’t say life changing but it packs on the highlighter (which I like) while blending it so it doesn’t look weird and it’s size is awesome for the cheek bones. And it was VERY affordable!

Beauty blender

I FI-NAHH-LEEEE got a beauty blender. I was umming and uhhh’ing for years because it isn’t that cheap and sponges do need replacement quicker than brushes. But I am glad I picked it up. Originally sponges weren’t my cup of tea. I tried the real techniques one which I do love but for foundation it does absorb a lot of product so I didn’t reach for it much. Then I began using to blend out my concealer and I fell in love! I literally don’t do anything else for application of concealer but sponges now. So I picked up the beauty blender and I fell head over heels in love. It makes sense why every person and their dog scream love ballads about this sponge. It’s dam good! So I use it for under eye concealer and when I’ve applied my foundation with a brush I go over it with the sponge for further blending. I bounce between this and the real techniques sponge, both of which are awesome and both of which I will continue to use.

Becca highlighters

I told you guys I like beast mode highlighting on the cheekbones, well these highlighters are BOSS! I have opal and champagne pop and when I first tried them it was like a movie, slow motion running on the beach, kissing in the rain type of feels! I can’t get over how awesome these are. And I can’t stop using them either.

Spots girl pout about it lipsticks

These are such underrated lipsticks. From the Australian store – sports girl. They came out with nude shades and of course I picked up some shades. I’ve had some of these lipsticks for years now but this was before they came out with nude shades. They aren’t too drying, last a good amount of time and the nude shades are heaven. And they’re only $10 a pop.

Color pop eye shdows

Of course when I got me a color pop blush I hit the eyeshadows hard! They’re so awesome! I will say this, some of the shades just aren’t anything special, and they’re too natural and sheer and would probably be the equivalent of a transition shade in the eyeshadow powder world. And being that using your finger is the best way I wouldn’t get any shades you would want to wear in the crease because how would you apply them. Other than that I love the lid shades, they are pigmented and just gorgeous!

Chichi contour kit

Last but definitely not least is the chichi contour kit. I love so many chichi products, they know what they’re doing. This palette has good shades that aren’t too dark or intense but also not too natural and boring. What particularly sets this contour kit aside from the millions I own is how blendable it is, it’s definitely easy to use!

And that wraps up this long long long post. This is what happens when you leave a giant gap of space in between favorite’s posts. See any products I’ve mentioned that you like? What have been your favorites lately, drop a comment and let me know. I love you guys and I hope you have an awesome day, see you in the next post.

Great list of products – I’ve been hmming and hawwing about the beauty blender as well! I really do love my makeup brushes, and previous experiences with sponges weren’t too thrilling to me. But that’s something I’ll definitely have to re-think! Thanks for sharing, it’s great to see what works and what doesn’t 🙂 (in this case, all loves ha)

I do recommend, I mean it is possible to live without it. I went for years pretty happy with how I applied my foundation and when I tried the RT sponge I didn’t like how much product it absorbs BUT for undereye concealer using a sponge is a game changer. I go between the beauty blender and RT sponge for concealer and I still apply foundation with a brush though I quickly bounce the sponge over my face to do additional blending.

I wasn’t really into spending that much money on a sponge as well, however, I’m happy that I changed my mind. I haven’t tried any sponge that comes closer to beauty blender, it makes my base looks flawless! Colourpop eyeshadow is so good, I want to get my hands on so many colours!

I really does do a fantastic job. I bounce between the beauty blender and the RT sponge now. Ys they have lots of good shades, I just wish they wouldn’t eventually dry out.

I love Colourpop in general, and the eyeshadows are no exception! Tbh I’m not too much of an eyeshadow person but all the ones I’ve gotten are so pigmented and easy to blend it’s hard not to buy them when you find the perfect color.

I have become a major eye shadow junkie and my obsession has grown because of makeup geek eye shadows. I love color pop as well but I don’t like the inevitability that they will dry out.

That’s an interesting concept, I just use the beauty blend an the RT sponge for concealer and after I have blended out my foundation with a brush I just quickly bounce the beauty blender over my skin to further blend.
