Hey there you gorgeous peeps! Yes I am dropping another review – and today imma talk about a goodie! Let me get a teeny tiny rant out of the way – why does makeup revolution slap ‘blush palette’ onto things. The all about bronze palette – not a blush. This palette is barely a blush palette if that. If you go calling a duck a blush palette – it still doesn’t make it a blush palette.
Just thought I’d say that.
Alrighty how about we get onto the review now?
Does it have glowy shades? Yes it does! Every shade is a frosty/glowy finish except for a random shade that is matte and not even a highlighter.
Is it glittery or tacky? I wouldn’t call the finish tacky but these highlighters may not be to everyone’s taste. They definitely have a more frosted finish – they are still beautiful and wearable – only may seem slightly odd if caught in direct sunlight.
Packaging: Standard sleek black packaging and it comes with a mirror. The packaging is identical to all the makeup revolution palettes deemed as ‘blush palette’.
Are you able to highlight with all the shades? This is where it gets interesting. For starters this is called a ‘blush palette’ but it isn’t really. There are only two pink toned shades out of 8. Three of the shades can easily be used as highlighters. The stark white shade with gold veins can also be used as a highlighter but it’s INTENSE I like to use it for inner corner instead. And the coppery shade I use as a eyeshadow (it’s stunning for that). I also use the shimmer matte brow shade as an eyeshadow (you could kinda use it as a highlighter). There is one matte shade – I use this in the crease as an eyeshadow and you could also use it to contour. This is definitely a multi-purpose palette.
Formula: The formula of these ‘highlighters’ are smooth, especially considering they do have frosted finish. They sit on the skin nicely and there is little to no fall out.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is very very good! The highlighter underneath the stark white shade is less pigmented BUT it’s more of a natural glow compared to the otherwise. So there is nothing wrong with it.
Do they show up in photos? Yes they do, the glow is quite intense expect for the one natural shade.
Are they good for night time wear? Yep. If you wanted it to be very noticeable at nice you could also mix a little of the white highlighter with the more neutral shades.
Availability: The makeup revolution site which ships internationally AND I believe the UK and US have this brand in store.
Price: $12.71 AUD
Pros: It’s multi-purpose – there are blush shades, highlighter shades, shades you can use as eyeshadow and a contour shade. They’re pigmented, easy to apply and little to no fall out. This palette is very affordable.
Cons: There aren’t many subtle highlighters and there is one matte product in this palette.
Who may not like it?: Those of you who like natural highlighters or who thought you could wear all these shades as blush may not like this palette.
Rating: 8.5 / 10
Overall thoughts: I love this palette! I love how glowy and gorgeous the highlighters are and how in general this palette is so multi-purpose. That coppery shade makes a stunning lid shade – (like I am talking GAWJUSSS). And that matte shade works both for contouring and for a crease shade. All in all this palette is gorgeous.
Would I repurchase? I see myself repurchasing this. The brand did release a golden sugar 2 palette – I am keen on picking that one up as well!
And that wraps up the review! Have you guys tried this palette? What are your thoughts? Drop a comment and tell me. I hope you guys all have a wonderful day and I will see you in the next post.
