All About The Base | Fresh Face

Hey hey hey.

Remember little old me the one who promises to be more consistent with blogging and yet disappears for a month. Yep that’s me! Once more I’d like to blame uni but I am officially on uni break for over a month before I jump into my last semester of uni *throws confetti* So my blogging consistency will definitely be picking up!  AND I am definitely going to implement a system that keeps a weekly post type schedule during uni so you guys aren’t left with zip! Sounds fair? I can easily say by new year blogging goals have pretty much turned to dust but no need worrying about the past. Today is a brand new day, here is a brand new post AND I am throwing at you another round of the ‘All about the base’ edit where I will be sharing with you guys products for a fresh faced base! Sounds good? I hop so! If you want to see the previous ‘All about the base’ posts, click on the blog series tab OR the tab that’s named after this blog series.
This type of base is great if you’re in a time jam, or having a good skin day and want to show off or you’re just having some natural makeup vibes.

So let’s get started!

Natio ageless illuminating primer | The goal of this particular base is to make your skin appear as if it’s fresh, rejuvenated and looking healthy. Nothing says glowy skin like an illuminating primer. Whatever glowy primer you usually use will work. Nothing glittery but just something that both hydrates the skin and makes it glow.

Chichi CC cream | This type of look really looks its best with a light foundation or base like product. If you need a full coverage foundation try and use a dewy one. I like doing this sort of base when my skin is actually behaving. I’m using a CC cream for this look just because, any light coverage foundation or even a bb cream / tinted moisture would also work. |Review|

Clarins instant concealer | you want to cover up those dark circles but you also don’t want it to look to heavy under there. If you need the extra coverage, wearing a corrector underneath will do the trick. (yes you can still set your concealer, if you feel like you don’t need to because it won’t crease or budge you can skip it but setting it with any powder or the powder you set your foundation with is fine). |Review|
Mac studio fix concealer | In a perfect world a skin would be without blemishes but it ain’t a perfect world. Spot concealer is nifty especially because you can cover up the blemishes but still keep the rest of your facing looking natural. |Review|

Face of Australia translucent loose setting powder | I always set my face even though I have dry/dehydrated skin. I like it because it keeps the foundation and concealer from transferring and moving around. I don’t apply a lot but I do sweep a light layer over the face.

And that’s it for this post! Do you guys like wearing this sort of base? What products do you like to use when you do? I hope you guys are enjoying this blog series, I mean I’m a bit of a base junkie myself. Drop a comment below with what you thought. I hope you are all having a fantastic day and as usual I will see you in the next post. And you really will be seeing me soon, scouts honor!

I love the Chi Chi CC cream! Their BB cream is also great, I find both to have excellent coverage but they don’t feel heavy on the skin. x

I agree! I do lean more towards the CC cream I feel like overall it lasts better AND it works well underneath foundation with 0 cakeyness.

It often depends on my mood whether I go for a full base or very light, some days I just don’t feel like wearing makeup. But BB / CC creams are handy for that. Thanks for stopping by!

I’ve heard mixed reviews of the Chi Chi CC cream. Do you have any problems with it? Some people love it and then some say it was just awful to apply :/

For me I really loved it. Now saying that our skin type is always going to influence our experience with a base product, so for those claiming they hated it, maybe their skin type just didn’t agree with it. My skin type is dry/dehydrated with a shiny t-zone the oiliness being intense on the nose. I’m able to have a wide range of foundations that work for me. Oily skin types are much more complicated.

Mac is completely a rip off in Australia but their concealers are decently priced and last for ever so you definitely get bang for your back. x

That Face of Australia translucent loose setting powder sounds great! And I always see reviews on Chi Chi but it’s not available in my country 🙁 Australian brands seem so interesting! If they sell online perhaps I can try them out!

It’s very great and it lasts AGES haha. The site does ship internationally even though it’s an aussie brand. We do have some nice aussie brands but there are lots of US brands and Uk brands that are so awesome but a struggle to get access to in Australia.

i don’t usually use a base product, since it’s always so hot where i live and i don’t want my product to melt off, lol! i usually just spot conceal and use a translucent powder. BUT the natio primer and the chichi cc cream look awesome…i might have to give them a shot!

I never heard of chichi cream but I will have to add that to my beauty radar! I LOVE Clarins makeup and would love to try that concealer. I took a month long blogging break too, so hard to get back into the game!

You should check it out! Their site ships internationally! You should try this concealer, Sam and nic from pixiewoo were raving about it and they’re right it’s so awesome. It is hard to get back into it and then there’s the wave of guilt for being so inconsistent. Thanks for stopping by!
