Hey there beautiful humans! It’s review time once again you guys know I like to take my foundation review very seriously. Who doesn’t love a good base and knowing as much information about a foundation before you buy it is important? You guys know what it’s like coming to face with a bad foundation, when it goes bad it goes very bad. So I do like to pack in extra information with foundation reviews especially.
Let’s get started!
What are the claims of this foundation?: It claims to contain skin brightening vitamin C, it claims to be an ‘anti-fatigue foundation’ making it won’t make your skin look tired. It also claims will illuminate the skin and have it looking glowy and it claims to contain peptides and a vitamin moisturizing complex.
Does it deliver on its claims?: It does give a glowy / radiant finish to the skin and make your skin look more lively. I am not sure about the claims wherein it contains peptides and vitamin C. formula wise there is nothing extraordinary about it, it’s like a typical foundation formula.
Coverage: This foundation is about medium coverage. I wouldn’t call it super buildable at least for me. If I try and get it to full coverage it cakes up on me fairly badly.
Skin types appropriate for this foundation: It is a glowy foundation. So I’d say if you suffer from oiliness there is a chance you won’t be a fan. Once again I don’t have oily skin so it’s impossible for me to know how it would work with oily skin.
Longevity: It lasts an average of 8 hours I’d say. Of course a setting spray, primer, setting powder etc. can help it last even better but this isn’t a long lasting foundation all by itself.
Application: It goes on fairly easily, it does help to wear a primer – either a smoothing or hydrating one as it can look awkward on the skin without a primer. I do have bad and good days with this foundation. Sometimes it looks nice on my skin, other times it just doesn’t want to sit well on my skin and so it ends up looking awkward. I like using a flat top foundation brush and going over it with a beauty blender to further blend it out.
Packaging: Standard glass bottle packaging and it comes with a pump!
Formula: It’s a fairly hydrating and creamy foundation. It’s not up there with some of the very hydrating foundations I’ve tried but it is decently hydrating. It does have the annoying tendency to settle into pores and cling on dry patches and texture.
Pros: It’s fairly easy to apply, gives decent coverage, has a decent shade range and is affordable. It’s pretty hydrating.
Cons: It has the tendency to settle into pores and cling to dry patches and sometimes it just doesn’t sit on my skin overall nicely.
Shade range: There are 6 shades in total
Price: $19.95 AUD (It is $15. 28 AUD on feelunique)
How much product do you get?: You get 30 ml of product
Rating: 6.5 / 10
Overall thoughts: I do like this foundation but I am not crazy about it. I don’t like that I have days where it just doesn’t want to sit well on my face. Also because it settles into my pores I have to wear a pore filling primer with this foundation. It’s alright for the price, lately I’ve just been mixing it into other foundations since I am tanned from summer and I can’t wear every foundation I have straight from the bottle. I prefer mixing it with other foundations as it masks the pore settling and dry patch clinging.
Would I repurchase this?: Most likely not
And that wraps up the post! Have you guys tried this foundation? Thoughts? What foundations have you tried lately? Are there any Rimmel foundations you want me to try? Drop a comment and let me know. I hope you guys have an awesome day and I’ll see you in the next post.
