Hello lovely humans! You guys know when you see a product as the title of the post it’s review time! Of course once again I am talking about foundations because I am a foundation junkie! I am going to cut the babbles short to day and jump straight into the review.
What are the claims of this foundation?: It claims to ‘instantly capture light for a healthy looking glow’. That is the only thing it claims it doesn’t make promises on longevity or anything like that. So I do like that fact they aren’t making a million claims because when a foundation makes too many promises – some are bound to be a gimmick.
Does it deliver on its claims?: It does have a dewy / glowy finish to it so I would say in day light it does make your skin look glowy and healthy.
Coverage: I’d call this about a medium coverage foundation. It is sort of buildable but it isn’t the type of foundation you’d want to build up because of its formula. Not everyone would find it buildable so it’s best just to accept it as a medium coverage foundation to prevent cakeyness.
Skin types appropriate for this foundation: This is a very creamy & foundation it’s thick formula and the fact that it does give you glowy skin wouldn’t make it ideal for those with oily skin types. Of course I don’t have oily skin so I can’t 100% guarantee how it would work for oily skin but you should do your research on makeup alley to see if any oily skin types enjoyed this product.
Longevity: I’d say it lasts an average of 8 hours. My skin type doesn’t give me too much grief with foundation longevity and I always go in with setting powder, primer and a setting spray so I find that makes the foundation look fresh all day. but it’s thick formula could cause it to wear off quicker for some people. This isn’t the type of foundation I’d wear on a hot / humid day.
Application: It blends out fairly easily for me, I’d say there aren’t many dramas. I do have to really buff it into the skin as it can at times sit on top rather than look like it has melted into the skin which is annoying. So this isn’t the type of foundation you want to slap on when you are in a rush as it can have days where it doesn’t look so cute.
Packaging: It’s a plastic bottle with a pump.
Finish: It has a very glowy/ dewy finish.
Formula: The formula is quite unusual for a liquid foundation. It’s definitely thicker than a typical foundation not a straight up mouse texture but close to it. It’s very creamy and hydrating and it does glide over the skin fairly easily but it can settle into pores. So I definitely wear a pore blurring primer underneath when using this foundation. The formula may not be everyone’s cup of tea and it’s not super buildable because of its thick formula. You can build it up a little but you don’t want to apply too much as it can get cakey.
Who would love this foundation?: If you love super creamy, hydrating foundations and a dewy finish you’ll enjoy this. Also if your skin type doesn’t cause too many issues at wearing off the foundation.
Who wouldn’t love this foundation?: If you don’t like foundations with a thick-ish texture, you are looking for bullet proof longevity and you want a matte finish – you won’t like this foundation.
Shade range: There are 6 shades in total I believe, I don’t feel like they cater well for fair skin
Price: $33.95 AUD
Availability: Target & Myer
Overall thoughts: This is a nice foundation, it works fairly good for me but I can see how it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. I like that it isn’t drying on my skin and doesn’t set to quickly.
Would I repurchase this?: Not completely sure, I am trying to be more picky with what foundations I do repurchase because I am quite addicted to trying out new foundations.
And that is a wrap for this review. Have you guys tried this foundation? What are your thoughts? What other foundations from max factor do you think I should try? Drop a comment and let’s get chatting. I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.
