Australis Oh 2 Glow Foundation

Hey my favorite humans! With all the reviews I do, do I really need an introduction? Haven’t we gotten to the stage where you see the name of a product in the tittle and you know what’s about to go down? Yes I’m going to be talking to you guys about foundation.

Let’s jump in!

What are the claims of this foundation?: This foundation claims to have light – diffusing properties, that it is anti-ageing and contains aloe vera and vitamin E. It claims to give you a radiant and natural finish to the skin. This foundation also promises that you skin will look flawless all day while still remaining hydrated. It also claims to be easy to blend.

Does it deliver on the claims?: Something I do notice with a foundation when they advertise the qualities of a foundation that they want you to notice they place it at the front of the bottle. The main things they boast about when it comes to this foundation is that ‘it has light diffusing properties’ / that it is ‘anti-aging’ and contains ‘aloe vera’ & ‘vitamin E’. I the finish of this foundation to be quite glowy. It is blendable and doesn’t look cakey on the skin. Whether it’s anti-aging who knows! That sort of thing you would at the very least notice after many years but I am skeptical to that little claim. The one things it claims to do but doesn’t deliver is giving your skin a flawless finish all day. it doesn’t last ALL day but this claim is so briefly mentioned at the back of the bottle so it isn’t largely advertised as a long lasting foundation.

Coverage: I’d say this foundation would give you no more than medium coverage maybe a bit less. It isn’t a straight up light coverage base but you don’t get tons of coverage either. You will need to go in with a heavy duty concealer.

Skin types appropriate for this foundation: It is quite a hydrating formula, so I don’t know to what extent oily skin types would enjoy this foundation. My skin type does allow this foundation to last fairly decently but in hot weather this won’t last very long.

Longevity: It lasts an average of 8 hours. I always like to go in with a setting spray, primer of course and a setting powder. It isn’t sweat proof and it won’t be that great for those of you who a have a skin type that causes foundation to wear off quickly – don’t expect this to stay on your face well. I’m lucky enough not to have an overly annoying skin type.

Application: This foundation does go on quite easily. It blends out easily and glides over the skin. Even though it has quite a thin formula it works well when applied with a brush. You don’t have major issues with brush strokes. A sponge would also work great at applying this but it would impact the coverage level.

Packaging: Standard frost glass bottle packaging with a pump.

Formula: It’s quite a light weight creamy and very hydrating formula. It has a glowy / dewy finish and sits on the skin quite well. It does have a tendency to sink into pores so I’d wear a bit of a pore filling primer underneath this one.

Who would love this foundation?: If you love dewy foundations that are easy to apply and light weight and no more than a medium coverage (a bit less than that) you’ll enjoy this foundation.

Who wouldn’t love this foundation?: If you like a matte finish and/or require the foundation itself to be super long lasting then you might not be a fan of this.

Shade range: There six shades in total. The shades are a bit iffy so if you struggle at finding shade matches you may run out of luck here as well.

Price: $22.95 AUD

Availability: Priceline, Some targets that sell Australis and the Australis site itself (which ships internationally).

Rating: 7/10

Overall thoughts: I do enjoy this foundation quite a bit. As of lately I haven’t been wearing much because our Australian summer has been insane, (literally record breaking and not in a good way) so I am quite keen to wear this again once the weather cools down. I love that its hydrating and sits on the skin nicely and it does have good coverage.

Would I repurchase this?: Not sure. This doesn’t have the wow factor that makes me obsessed enough that I know I will definitely repurchase it. I try so many foundations because I am obsessed with them so I find that it has to be voodoo magic to get me to repurchase.

And that wraps up this review! Have you guys tried this foundation? What are your thoughts? What foundations have you been loving? Drop a comment and let’s get chatting. I hope you guys have an awesome day and I’ll see you in the next post!

I’ve never tried their foundations, but I loved their translucent powder that I’m pretty sure is discontinued now. Thanks for the info! 🙂 As a side note, is the vitamin E ingredient simply vitamin E or vitamin E ester? The benefits aren’t exactly going to last any longer than a few days if it’s not stabilised?

Is the powder you are referring to the paparazzi translucent powder? Because I’m sure it isn’t discontinued in fact they came out with a pressed powder version. I’m also a fan of their fresh and flawless powder. To answer your question, simply Vitamin E. It is a foundation so it does get rinsed off at the end of the day of course, the Vitamin E does help it become hydrating when wearing it.

I’ve always wanted to try this brand, hopefully someday I’ll travel to Australia and buy loads of it! I can imagine it wouldn’t be good for a hot summer but it does sound lovely for dry skin.

I just checked this out and they do worldwide shipping with a small list of places they don’t ship to. The UK was not on that list which means they do ship to the UK!

It’s not a super accessible brand and their range is quite small but they do have some goodies in there.

I’ve never tried this or this brand. For me the fact that it’s not a heavy coverage is something I couldn’t get on board with, I NEEED that coverage hahaha. Thanks for sharing your review!

I’m on both wagons. I love my light coverage foundation for when my skin is surprisingly looking good but I also love me some full coverage for those just because days as well as when my skin isn’t looking so great.

Great review! I have quite difficult skin; combination with mild-moderate acne and also scarring. Not the easiest to work with. Still trying to find my holy grail base products, maybe not this one as you mentioned it’s not great in hot weather (super hot and humid here) and may start to break on oily skin (my forehead and chin). Either way, I enjoyed your review on it, at least I know this foundation is probably not for me!

It’s all trial and error really. Foundation is the trickiest because our skin type effects it the most. I hear the revlon color stay foundation and the estee lauder double wear foundations are incredible for those with oily/combination skin. So you should look into reviews on those foundations. Thank you for stopping by the blog. x
