Elizabeth Arden ‘Grand Entrance’ Mascara

Hello there you gems! When it comes to mascara I find that drugstore makeup come out with some really brilliant mascaras which leave me not bothered to go high end for makeup. It’s a category of makeup I don’t find much need as my lashes are quite naturally long and full. But as a Christmas present I got an Elizabeth Arden beauty set filled with all sorts of different makeup items. I do plan to review the set as a whole. So stay tuned for that but what I really loved from this set was the mascara!

So today’s review is focusing on the mascara and it is sold separately from the set so yay for that. Okay let’s jump straight into the review!

Formula: The formula of the mascara is definitely on the wetter side. I wouldn’t say it has a watery consistency but isn’t dry. It coats the lashes very easily and you can layer it without it looking clumpy.

Uni lash?: No. It gives the lashes a lot of volume and length with minimal clumpyness! It’s one of those lashes that make it appear as though you are wearing false lashes.

Shade range: It’s available in black and brown

Price: $37.40 AUD

Availability: Feel Unique

Panda eyes?: No. I don’t notice any smudging or flaking. Now I don’t have oily eyelids or oily skin and this as far as I know isn’t a waterproof formula but on me it lasted well with no mess. I obviously wouldn’t dunk myself in water but it won’t smudge all by itself.

Does it hold a curl?: Yes its light weight formula makes it hold a curl really well!

Difficult to remove?: I remove my entire face of makeup using a cleansing oil regardless of what mascara I wear. I don’t notice any difficulty removing this mascara so it isn’t strangely stubborn to remove.

Pros: It gives the lash crazy volume and length, holds a curl well, doesn’t give you a uni lash, doesn’t smudge or flake.

Cons: It’s not super affordable and for some reason when I wear it, it causes slight irritation to my eyes. It doesn’t cause them to water or go red but it just isn’t a comfortable mascara to wear. That’s the only downside to do! If you have extra sensitive eyes, this might irritate you more aggressively.

Rating: 9/10

Overall thoughts: I really love this mascara! It’s so lovely, makes the lashes look incredible. It is if I am wearing falsies which I am not because I do not know how to apply them nor can I be bothered for them. But this mascara really does make the lashes look incredible, it’s just annoying that for some reason this mascara is so uncomfortable to wear. I haven’t had a mascara made my eyes feel this way before which is very strange but the way it makes the lashes look I overlook that.

Would I repurchase it?: I do see myself repurchasing this mascara despite it making my eyes feel a bit irritated.

And that wraps up this post! Have you guys tried this mascara? Does it irritate your eyes? What high end mascaras do you absolutely love? Drop a comment, I’d love to hear from you guys! I hope you all have a wonderful day, I love you guys and I’ll see you in the next post!

This sounds like a lovely mascara and has all the things I look for like separation and length – it’s just the price that’s putting me off a bit! I’m a cheapskate when it comes to mascaras and typically spend no more than about £9. That being said, if my budget was different this would be right up my street.

I’m the same way. If this wasn’t a present I probably would have never gotten to try it – not that I had heard of it beforehand. It’s very good but I also love so many mascaras from the drugstore – I lot of them being from Maybelline.

It’s a shame it caused some irritation! I’ve been loving her skincare lately.

It’s blown me away at how good it just is when usually I’m a drugstore mascara kind of girl.

The irritation doesn’t sound great! 9/10 is a great score though. Hopefully you get used to it and it wont irritate so much.

That seems like a wonderful mascara. I like the “ In between dry and wet “ consistency. The price looks fair enough.
