The Sand & Sky Pink Clay Mask

Hey you beautiful humans!

If you know me you know I love my face masks! I mean I don’t why I have this insane urge to try every facemask my eyes seem to detect. It’s like I am running a race with myself or something. Lucky for you guys, this little habit of mine means you get hit with a lot of face mask reviews *crowd cheers*

And that is exactly what I am bringing to you guys today! Whether you have heard of this popular facemask or not, today you’ll be hearing my thoughts on it.  This isn’t my usual in-depth review but I have been using this product for a few weeks and I feel as though I have a strong opinion on this mask already and I have to share it with you. So if your interest is peaked – keep on reading!

What is this product and what is it meant to do.

This product is a multi-purpose face mask that is meant to detoxify, brighten and refine pores.

What effect did it leave on the skin?

The effect this face mask had on my skin was that my pores became visibly smaller around my nose and my t-zone, particularly my nose. I find that it really smooths out my nose and for a whole day it seems to have a kind of oil control effect on it. My complexion also definitely looks bright as this mask causes your skin to tingle. (My skin doesn’t usually tingle with products – not even AHAs/BHAs – so you know this mask is doing something if it makes my skin tingle).

Before

After

Is it multi-purpose?

Yes! Aside from it having a couple of effects for the skin as I mentioned above. This mask can be used a few different ways. You can use it as a spot treatment (whether for pimples, or directly applying it onto the areas with enlarged pores). You can apply it as a pre-event face mask before you apply your makeup to make your complexion brighter & minimize pores. Or you can use as a treatment at night to brighten the skin and top up with a serum & moisturizer – this mask allows for better of absorption of hydrating products once you rinse it off!

How often can you use it?

According to the sand & sky website, if you have oily to combination skin they recommend use of 2-3 times a week. However, if you have sensitive to dry skin, the use of this face mask is recommended at 1-2 times. I use it once a week on my entire face but I like to apply it 3 times a week on my t-zone, with most of it sitting on and around my nose.

Is it overly drying?

While this face mask gives the skin lots of instant skin benefits as I have mentioned above it doesn’t promise to hydrate the skin. It does allow your skin to better absorb hydration but it doesn’t hydrate all on its own. So I like to hydrate my skin one of two ways – if I have the time I like to follow up with a hydrating face mask or sheet mask. OR I follow up with a serum and super hydrating moisturiser. This rectifies any tightness the skin may be feeling.

How do you apply it?

You apply it with the brush it comes with & you just slather it on like you would any other face mask!

How long do you leave it on?

You leave it on for 10 minutes, once it sets the face gets tight and you just rinse it with warm water.

How much product do you get?

You get 60 grams of product, a little really goes a long way. You don’t need a lot. So overall the product will definitely last a while!

How much does it retail for?

It retails for $69.90 AUD

The brand was kind enough to give me a code to share with you guys. Use ‘makeup10’ to get 10% off the mask! This isn’t an affiliate link, just an opportunity for you guys to get a discount off the mask.

Where to get it?

From the Sand and Sky site

What do I rate it?

8.5/10

Overall thoughts? Does it really minimize pores?

I’m seriously impressed with this face mask! It really does bring the skin instant results which is what you want from a face mask! Yes my pores look instantly smoother and smaller (not that I have particularly large pores). What I love in particular is that it provides a number of benefits and its super multi-purpose. I highly recommend you guys check out this face mask and see for yourselves the awesome results it gives!

Would I repurchase this myself?

The amount of times I find myself gravitating towards this face mask definitely has placed this product on the ‘repurchase’ list!

Wow, it is good to hear that you’ve had a good experience with the brand. I am quite dry, so I tend to stay away from clay masks, but my nose could use a bit of that pore-minimizing action 😀 Thanks for sharing! x

This face mask sounds great but with my really dry skin, I’m not sure how it would react. Your skin looked great before AND after x

I have dry dehydrated skin with an oily t-zone. I mostly apply this on my t zone but once a week I wear it all over my face and then follow up with a hydrating sheet mask

I love clay masks! I just can’t use them too often because they dry out my skin. You can definitely tell a difference between your before and after.
