Pixi Glow Tonic

My relationship with Glycolic acid has definitely been a complicated one. I feel like the complications started when I heard everyone rave about that ingredient which turned into me thinking it could fix my texture issues. After trying numerous products and not being a massive fan – I have finally found a glycolic acid toner I love and of course it is the infamous Pixi glow tonic.

So if you’d like to hear my thoughts on this well-known product – keep on reading!

Let’s jump in!

Targeted skin type It is suitable for all skin types.

Facts about this skincare product It contains 5% glycolic acid, it contains Ginseng and Aloe vera (which is why its so hydrating). It also contains no alcohol and it isn’t tested on animals.

What is its purpose? It claims to help with cell renewal and reduce the size of pores. It also claims to balance, soothe and heal the skin to help it look brighter.

Does it achieve this? Yes it does, it definitely helps your skin feel clean, smooth and clear as well as give you skin a healthy glow. It’s also super hydrating and gentle on the skin!

Packaging: Usual bottles of pixi glow tonic come with a lid that has an opening you pour the product out of. This limited edition 500 ml size comes with a pump.

How much product do you get?: Now I was incredibly lucky to be sent the limited edition 500 ml size but the usual sizes sold is the 100 ml and the 250 ml. This also comes in a travel-friendly pixi glow tonic action pads.

Did it irritate my skin? No it doesn’t, even with daily use. It’s definitely different to other glycolic acids as its seriously hydrating and gentle on the skin!

How many times a week do you use it? It’s definitely an acid you can use daily because it isn’t harsh or drying on the skin.

Morning or night?: You could use this either morning or night (or both), or when needed.

Does your skin adapt to it over time and therefore become less effective?: I haven’t noticed this it still gives your skin a healthy glow and brightens your complexion

Pros: Its hydrating and gentle on the skin while giving you a brighter complexion and helping your skin stay clear.

Cons: If you have texture issues on the skin like bumpiness/closed comeodones – this product doesn’t help with that. Its also not super affordable for aussies.

Price: $46 AUD for the 250 ml size

Availability: ry.com.au, Iherb, Pixi site, adore beauty, Sephora,

Rating: 8.5/10

Overall thoughts: I can definitely see why this product gets all the raves its super different to all the other glycolic toners. It makes the skin feel so good and it gives the effect you expect it to – which means healthy, radiant skin! I’m a massive fan of this one!

Would I repurchase it? I do see myself repurchasing this for sure – I only wish they always sold a 500 ml size.

And that wraps up this post. Have you guys tried the infamous pixi glow tonic? What was your experience with it? Drop a comment and let’s have a chat. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I’ll see you in the next post.

Before I tried this toner I was sort of over glycolic acid as I felt it didn’t do much for my skin – I definitely see the difference with this one & the skin isn’t left dried out or aggravated – it’s quite hydrating.

I love this product, I wish I’d gotten a bigger size when I first bought it as I go through it so quickly! Maybe they’ll add a pump to it permanently x

This size was a limited edition PR package, I wish they readily sold this size – I’d much rather purchase this than 1 or 2 of the 250 ml which ends up costing a lot more money.

It’s a shame it’s quite expensive, but I guess if it works well it’s worth the money! And it sounds like this really works for you 🙂

Hope you are having a nice week so far! It’s a good one here as we have the day off for anzac day and are planning to relax 🙂

Yes I hate how us Aussies have to pay more for it. I’m curious about the ordinary’s glycolic acid I’m hoping its similar to pixi glow tonic as it isn’t affordable and its easy to run out of quicker. Yes it’s Anzac day here as well so I am planning to chill and get lots of blogging stuff done.

I have tried this but on my skin it didn’t do all the magical things that everyone else seems to experience. I much prefer Nip+Fab Glycolic Night Extreme pads.

I didn’t experience necessarily magic either but I like the way it made my skin feel & I did feel like it contributed to making it look healthy.. I’ve tried those Nip+fab ones, (not that exact version) I just find the pads aren’t drenched in enough product, they feel a bit dry.

Can’t believe I still haven’t tried the Pixi Glow Tonic, when i only read great things about this toner! BTW is it ok to start with 5% glycolic acid for a first timer with acids?
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead! 🙂

I was in the same boat for me, so long passed by till I tried it & now I am glad I did. I’m no skincare expert, I’d say so as long as your skin isn’t sensitive and I wouldn’t start with daily use, perhaps using it every other day or 3 times a week and see how you go. If it doesn’t bother your skin, you can increase it. It isn’t a strong acid toner, AHAs/BHAs are stronger. Thank you for stopping by the blog.

I love the pump bottle and wish they would sell it normally! But the regular packaging is just fine as well, and really it’s what’s inside that counts. I love Glow Tonic and am over halfway through the bottle I have right now and have used it for years and have always enjoyed it and gotten good results.

Yes! I will be keeping my pump to see if I can apply it to future bottles though I wish they readily sold a 500 ml size as its a product easy to go through quickly! It’s definitely an awesome product & my skin feels wonderful.

I love the Glow Tonic! As you said it is not drying at all and doesn’t impact the skin – a pretty safe product to use every single day. Pixi products are often really good in general! 🙂

I definitely love this product, especially for the great price. I tend to use a lot of Glycolic Products. I do love them and I notice a difference but some are too mild…. On the other hand, I used a product from REN the other day and fried my skin. =(

Yes there definitely is a scale to how intense these acids can be – Alpha H liquid gold & the herbivore botanicals blue tansy mask make my skin tingle but normal glycolic acid doesn’t tingle my skin even though I do notice my skin looks better.
