Empties #1

Being a blogger and an avid reader of blogs – I’ve always been so intrigued with reading empties posts. Let’s face it us beauty enthusiasts we buy a frightening amount of beauty products – more than we can possibly use. So when we do use them up there is just enormous satisfaction in knowing that we have gone through and used up the product. I’ve always scolded myself at not actively trying to use up as many products as possible but I’ve come to the realization that I really need to. Of course, skincare will always run out faster than makeup I have only recently begun to use up skincare properly now that I’ve become properly consistent. So I am trying to turn a new leaf & truly aim at using up products. I do want to also do a pan project for makeup – but I am taking it one step at a time.

Okay, I am going to cut the chatter now & jump straight into the post!

Maybelline ‘falsies flared’ mascara

This was my favorite Maybelline mascara till I discovered others I loved more! This mascara does give lots of volume but I feel like it doesn’t give my lashes much length. It’s an overall nice mascara but since Maybelline makes others that are far better it doesn’t seem as good anymore. I’ll link you my review so you can hear my thoughts back when I was obsessed with it. |Review|

Will I repurchase? No.

Swisse deep sea hydrating mist toner

I have a massive obsession with mist toners! Like a serious serious obsession! This is such a simple product, you spritz your face and boom you feel refreshed and hydrated! I love that this is also super affordable – I go through mist toners really quickly so it isn’t practical to own super fancy ones. This has been my second bottle and its definitely a great option!

Will I repurchase this? Eventually as it’s a good one to have in the arsenal – though I have a few other mist toners to use up first.

Nivea ‘Aqua Sensation’ day cream

Moisturizers are something I bounce between, there aren’t many that have left such an impression on me where I am like WOAH. That being said I am 100% obsessed with gel moisturizers now so those are the ones I see myself repurchasing. This is the one non-gel moisturizer I am obsessed with. It smells so amazing, feels super lightweight & hydrating on the skin. This is my second tub & I am enormously obsessed with it! My skin feels incredible when I use this gem!

Will I repurchase it? Definitely! I’m literally planning to get it at my next trip to Priceline.

Alpha H Liquid Gold

When I purchased this lovely little product it was during a sale where I got the limited edition 200 ml size for $35 AUD – an absolute bargain. I really enjoyed this and saw a difference to my skin. Knowing that only a 100 ml size is sold for about $60 AUD which is twice as much kind of bums me out as I know it’s easy to go through this stuff  as I use it every other night. I really enjoyed how it made my skin feel, it’s definitely intense but it does help with skin texture and of course your overall complexion.

Will I repurchase? Not sure as the 100 ml is quite pricey.

Maybelline colossal volume express Mascara

Maybelline mascaras never fail me and up until I tried the angel push up mascara – this was my favourite mascara of all time from Maybelline! I still love it a lot but I definitely lean more towards the angel push up because my lashes look dramatic but super long & wispy as well. This mascara gives you lots of volume & drama. The lashes can look a bit messy & spidery (I personally don’t mind this (but I personally don’t mind it). |Review|

Will I repurchase it? It is my second favourite Maybelline mascara so I do see myself picking this up again!

Mizon AHA & BHA daily clean toner *

AHAs & BHAs are my jam! They perform miracles for my skin so naturally I gravitate towards any product that contains them. I love how gentle this is on the skin – a lot of the AHAs/BHAs I love are intense and can’t be used daily so I am glad I found a product gentle enough to use each day and it left my skin feeling so refreshed as well. I’m also super stoked Mecca sell this brand which means I can pick it up in store rather than having to place an online order each time.

Will I repurchase it? I definitely will the next time I’m in Mecca

Swisse Micellar makeup remover

Micellar waters will forever be in my skincare arsenal. It is such a multi-purpose product so whenever I see that a brand I love comes out with one – I am the first to pick it up! This is a very refreshing micellar water & I love that it comes in a big bottle (like seriously small packaged micellar waters – what’s the point?!). I have absolutely no complaints about this gem & it smells like cucumber as well – PLUS its filled with natural goodies – so it’s a win win!

Will I repurchase it? Yes! I just need to use up my accumulating micellar water stash first!

Maybelline Master fix concealer

Another thing Maybelline does so well? Concealers! This is hands down my favourite concealer from them it just looks so good under the eyes – it covers well, doesn’t crease too much on me or look cakey. I love it each time I use it. |review|

Will I repurchase it? Already have & I have a backup now as well.

Maybelline ‘Fit me’ concealer

Now I did throw this out before I could snap a picture as only in recent days did I realise I need to get off my butt & start doing empty posts. This is another Maybelline concealer I love & my only pickle is that I do go through it rather quickly as it’s a wand applicator concealer. Other than that, it sits nicely under the eyes and is a quick & easy option! |Review|

Will I repurchase it? I technically already have as I had a backup and I’ve now whipped that one out.

And that wraps up this post! Have you guys tried any of the products mentioned today? What products have you used up? Drop a comment below & let me know! I hope you guys have an awesome day and I’ll see you in the next post!

I used to love Maybelline The Flasies too but haven’t repurchase since the past two years. Like you, I found it doesn’t give me much length.

I use to love the mascara but as I tried other Maybelline mascaras I have definitely discovered ones that are far better. If you’re looking for length, you should try the angel push up mascara by them, they make the lashes look so long & wispy!

Lovely post as usual darl! x I absolutely love Nivea moisturisers for my dry skin and I can definitely roll with gel moisturisers – they’ve just as nourishing but feel 10x more refreshing and lightweight on the skin. The Mizon sounds so good (I’m an AHA and BHA love too) and you’ve persuaded me to want to try the Maybelline fit me concealer (I have the foundation in a bit of a dodgy shade). The liquid gold, however, I’ve been wanting to try for so long but you’re spot on – it’s pricey AF. Thanks so much for this read,

Yass! Nivea moisturizers are so underrated but yet so good! Gel moisturizers are my ride or die now but that one Nivea moisturizer is definitely an exception! I actually don’t like the Maybelline foundations – they are always far too pink toned for me but I’ve loved every single Maybelline concealer i’ve tried except for (super stay). Thank you for stopping by the blog lovely!

I always love to read about what products people finished.. I feel like you can really make a judgement when you used it that much!

Exactly! It just feels so good using up products, I’m constantly buying beauty products (especially makeup) like crazy so when I use up products it feels so fulfilling though how I am going to use up makeup is a tricky run, skincare definitely runs out quicker.

I love empties posts too. I always think the products must definitely be worthwhile if we actually bother to use them up! I really want to try the Alpha H Liquid Gold, just wish it wasn’t so pricey! x

Though I find some products while I enjoy using them I want to just use them up so they don’t go to waste, it’s those that I plan to repurchase that are the superstars because I love trying new products so to repurchase rather than trying something new says something. I purchased liquid gold on sale so the full price is just too much.

So great you’ve started doing these! You will find yourself emptying so many things over time, when you’re really accumulating things to go in a post. Obviously, makeup-wise you’ll always use up things like mascaras and concealers first, as they expire pretty quickly and you tend to only stick to a handful on a daily basis. It’s harder to use up blushes/bronzers though but if you make a habit out of using it on the daily, you should be able to do a little Project Pan! I really recommend doing it 😉

I didn’t realize how good they would feel to do, there’s something about finishing products up that make being a beauty junkie not seem so bad haha. I’m already close to finishing up a few more products. I really want to do a project pan, I’m in such a bad habit at the moment where I keep rotating between products too quickly I need to select some items that I have to wear every day whether I like it or not, I get so jelly of people with their pan pictures, I need to have the willpower to do it.

The Swisse products sound fab and even better for me if they are on the more affordable side! Going to have a look into them and cross my fingers they are cruelty free and vegan! A fabulous informative yet concise empties post Bernadette! I really enjoyed it! 😀

They are a brand that use more natural ingredients so hopefully they are cruelty-free & vegan! Thank you very much, I’m glad you enjoyed the blog post.

The Nivea day cream sounds amazing, I love Nivea products and especially their scents, they are so unique. A lightweight formula is perfect for me to use in summer days! x

I know like to bounce around between moisturizers (with the exception of gel moisturizers which I’ve become addicted to) so it says a lot that I keep repurchasing this one.

I love empties posts, it’s so interesting to see what everyone is using up! I remember when the falsies mascara from Maybelline was so popular, so it’s sad that it doesn’t live up to it anymore xx

I’ve always loved reading those kind of posts but they are definitely a little tricky making, mostly because I hate holding onto used products (essentially trash). When I first used that mascara I loved it but as I tried more maybelline mascaras I definitely found better ones from the very same brand.
