Bobbi Brown ‘All Over Glow’

Good morning you beautiful people. Okay, today’s review is an exciting one as you all know by now I love me some glowyness! But this is no run of the mill highlighter, I like to call it “gloss” for the face! I need to dive straight into this review and get started, are you ready?!

What is this product? This is a liquid highlighter that basically comes out like this glossy gel. It has a slippery, yet slightly tacky feel to it and is mostly translucent in colour.

Appropriate skin types: If you struggle with shiny/oily skin I don’t know if you will like this highlighter on the face as it can very easily look like sweat. But if you have dry/dehydrated skin, this will be your jam!

What are the claims of this highlighter? It provides a “lit from within” glow, infused with squalene, it smooths away the look of dry, fine lines and leaves the skin soft to the touch.

Does it deliver on these claims? Yes, it does! I will say the glow factor is definitely more than a “lit from within” type of glow. It’s basically like gloss for the face! It’s super glowy and gives you a wet type of glow. It can easily look like sweat if you apply too much so tread carefully.

Does it work with many skin tones? The shade I have just works on my skin tone, if it was even half a shade too dark it may not have worked. Of course, it’s a sheer product and doesn’t give you must Colour aside from a glossy look, but if your complexion is fair enough it might give off some Colour to the face.

Is it overly glittery? No the finish of this highlighter is glossy rather than glittery.

Is it too natural? It’s definitely noticeable on the skin. Of course the less you apply (and if you blend it out), it can look subtle. If you apply a bit extra it can look more intense. I’ve been loving it in these colder months but in warmer weather where you’ll already be sweating, it can look like another layer of sweat to your face.

Day or night appropriate?: I like that extra glow, day and night so it really depends on how intense of a highlight you like.

Where is it best for applying on the face? I like applying this on the cheekbones and I definitely wouldn’t apply it on my nose as this stuff (like I’ve probably said 100 times already in this post) – can easily look like sweat!

Price: $65 AUD

Availability: Myer, (It’s a holiday collection so I’m pretty sure it’s limited edition)

Formula? The formula of this highlighter has a gel sort of feel to it, it’s quite silky but has a bit of tackiness to keep it from slipping and sliding all over your face. It gives a ‘wet’ sort of finish to the skin & any sparkle particles are not very noticeable.

Highlighter on fleek? If you learn how to apply this highlighter properly it can definitely look “on fleek!” but a little definitely goes a long way with this one.

Pros: Has a pretty, glossy finish, quite easy to apply & blend out. Doesn’t look sparkly or glittery on the skin.

Cons: If you apply too much it can look like there’s “sweat” on your face. It’s limited edition as it was a holiday collection so it won’t be available for long.

Rating: 8/10

Overall thoughts: This highlighter is so unusual and lovely. Although I am a highlighter addict, I haven’t come across anything like it. It gives this beautiful glossy, wet look to the skin which I am obsessed with! This stuff gets a massive thumbs up from me!

Would I repurchase? I’m pretty sure it’s limited edition so I am not sure I’ll be able to repurchase it!

And that wraps up this post! Have you guys tried this bobbi brown all over glow? Are you into powder highlighters or more liquid highlighters? Drop a comment and let’s chat about it! As always I hope you all have an awesome day and I’ll catch up with you in the next post.

I’ve never tried this before but It sounds perfect for Winter (I’m not sure a liquid highlighter this glowy would go down well in this heat haha!) Love how it’s not glittery or sparkly!

I’m all about that glow so I love trying highlighting products! I’ve never tried a gel-based highlighter before, but this one sounds lovely. I don’t suffer from oily skin, so I could definitely see this working for me. Such a great review xx

I’m the same way, i’m all about looking as dewy as possible. You’ll definitely love this product then, for a non-powder highlighter – the glow factor is lovely and intense.
