All about the base | Minimal AF base

Well hello, there you beautiful human! It’s been a hot minute since the last time I through one of these posts from the ‘All about the base’ series at you! We’re definitely long overdue and today I wanted to chat with you guys about the infamous no-makeup makeup look. I’ll admit I don’t reach for it all the time as I prefer a full face but when you are strapped for time or I simply don’t feel like wearing makeup, this base will come super handy!

So let’s jump right in!

Concealer

For me, when it comes to my skin, nothing bothers me more than my under eye situation. It’s discoloured, dark and overall makes me look like a zombie. So even if I don’t really feel like makeup I like to spruce up that area with good ol’ concealer! Most of the time I don’t even spot conceal (even if I have a couple of blemishes) as I am not trying to look like I’m wearing makeup with this look, I’m just trying to look a little more put together. Of course, with under eye concealer I have to set it with powder to keep it from creasing a lot. So a little bit of powder to set the concealer is necessary, I usually go with a loose powder. If need be you could also do a little bit of spot concealing and set your face with a translucent pressed powder to give your complexion an overall boost. If you do want to set your face with powder, follow up with a setting spray to get rid of the powdery look!

Tinted brow gel

This step depends on your brow situation. My brows are pretty so my usual brow routine even for a beat face of makeup only really takes me a minute. On no makeup days, I slap on a tinted brow gel and move on! I really just need a product to keep my unruly brows in place!

Mascara

This is the type of base/makeup look (the only type) where I don’t mind a natural, more defining mascara. In any other situation I like my mascara to provide maximum length & volume & be super dramatic – but with a super simple base, a subtle mascara works better. I also don’t go HAM with the application and lightly coat the lashes so it doesn’t look obvious that I’m wearing mascara.

And that wraps up this post! Do you guys like no-makeup makeup looks? All do you love full glam all the time? What makeup products do you use for a simple base? Drop a comment and let me know! I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.

This seems like such a great makeup look for Summer! I always need a foundation, as I hate how red my skin gets, and it only gets worse in Summer haha xx

I totally understand, wanting the minimum no-makeup look. On school days , surprisingly I do more. But when I decide to jump in on the grocery shopping trip I like to do similar steps!

I am resting in the hot weather from make-up. I only use mascara. This gives expressiveness for my eyes.

Lovely post! Since on a day to day base I don’t really wear makeup, I love doing simple makeup like you’ve described when I do feel like wearing it.

Brow gel and mascara are my daily go-to products! I would love to apply concealer on my sleep deprived eyes if I had the time… quite a useful list for sure.
