Nivea ‘Aqua Sensation Day’ Cream

Hello there my favourite humans.

Its review time and I wanted to talk to you guys about a skincare product I’ve loved for quite some time. I purchased this way back (going on a few years ago – before my blogging days) and I loved it but I never got around to repurchasing it. I repurchased it a few months back and I am glad I did because I still love it.

And now with blogging I can tell you guys all about it! Let’s jump into the review!

Targeted skin type: Those with dry/dehydrated skin or even normal skin would love this moisturizer. It does lean more towards dehydrated skin though. So if you have severe dry skin – this might not pack enough of a punch. The moisturiser does state on its packaging (Normal to combination skin).

Facts about this skincare product: it contains Hydra IQ and Cucumber extract.

What is its purpose? To be a quick absorbing moisturiser that provides instant and long lasting moisture to the skin. It also claims to reduce the signs of tired skin and gives a fresh/radiant look to the skin. It also claims to contain UVA/UVB filters to help protect the skin from the environment and premature aging.

Does it achieve this? I do find that my skin is instantly hydrated and the feeling lasts pretty well throughout the day. I haven’t noticed mega dramatic changes to the skin in regards to radiance though by the hands of this moisturiser.

Packaging: A tub like packaging and you can scoop out the product. The good thing is you have completely control over how much product you get out and you can get out every bit of product. The downside? It isn’t the most hygienic form of packaging.

How much product do you get?: 50 ml

Does it achieve this?

Did it irritate my skin? I don’t experience irritation – because it does contain fragrance, those with sensitive skin could potentially feel irritated. Read the ingredients at the back.

Morning or night?: I use it during the day I like to use it at night during the warmer months.

Formula: The formula is very light weight, gel like. It has a bit of a cooling effect when you apply it to your skin. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy and it isn’t a heavy day cream.

Pros: Hydrating, light weight, gentle on the skin, smells very lovely and refreshing, sinks into the skin quickly

Cons: It does come in a tub like packaging so it’s difficult to maintain hygiene. And it does have a fragrance so if you skin is sensitive to fragranced skincare – watch out for this one.

Price: $14.79 AUD (In Priceline), $9.99 in Chemist Warehouse

Availability: Priceline, Chemist Warehouse

Rating: 9/10

Overall thoughts: I really love how light weight yet super hydrating this day cream is! It smells incredible and just leaves my skin feeling awesome after I’ve applied it. This is definitely an underrated day cream! I highly recommend it!

Would I repurchase it? Yes and this time I won’t forget to repurchase it!

And this wraps up the review! Have you guys tried this moisturiser or any products from Nivea? Drop a comment and let’s have a chat! I hope you guys all have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.

I used to use a lot of Nivea back in the days, but don’t have a single product in my rotation right now. I can’t even tell you why…

It’s such a classic brand. They make beautiful straightforward products. Especially with their moisturizers.

This sounds like a lovely, lightweight day cream. I’m not crazy about it being in a tub, though. That would be my only draw back, too.

I agree, if it was in a squeezy tube I’d be happy and know it’s not being contaminated. At least you can use every ounce of product up. x

And it smells like freshness and a spa! I wish they came out with a fragance that had that scent!

It sounds like a lovely moisturiser, especially for Summer time! I don’t think I’ve that one in UK but I’m sure we have something similar from Nivea. x

This is an interesting review! At the moment we are invaded with a lot of new, more niche skincare brands, so it’s nice to get back to basics sometimes. You can never go wrong with Nivea! 🙂

Thank you, I like to go by the philosophy that I review all beauty products I try or at least 95% of them as there is always the few that didn’t really get an opinion out of me so I don’t have much to say about them for a review. Nivea makes the best moisturizers, hand creams & body lotions.

Sounds lovely! I wasn’t impressed by Nivea’s hydrating primer, so it kind of put me off some of their moisturizers, it sounds like I could like this one.

I had no idea nivea made primers but they are a skincare brand so if they delve into makeup, early products will probably be iffy. x
