Rimmel ‘Wake me up’ Concealer

Hello there you beautiful humans!

Well, it’s that time again, where I yap about a product until I put you guys to sleep. No Jks, I’ll keep it interesting for you guys & nothing is more interesting than a base product review, at least for me and my base product hoarding tendencies.

The wake me up range by Rimmel is quite talked about and I’ve previously reviewed the wake me up foundation for you guys, so today let’s talk about the concealer! If I have peaked your interest, keep reading!

Let’s jump in!

Coverage: It can get up to about a medium-ish coverage. It isn’t full on nor is it too natural so it’s a good everyday option.

Longevity: It lasts pretty well (on my skin type at least & I have dehydrated skin with an oily t-zone). I of course always set my concealer with a setting powder – which is a must for keeping it in place all day. I will say that I won’t call this concealer crazy long lasting – so if you are having a long day this may not go the distance, but for a normal day, I find that it does the job well!

Formula: The formula isn’t overly thick yet it’s not super thin either, it sits somewhere in the middle. It’s fairly hydrating, easy to blend and doesn’t cake up under the eyes. On me, it doesn’t crease that much but I, of course, set it with powder.

Packaging: This concealer has a wand applicator, so it comes in a glass/plastic-ish tube with a regular wand applicator – none of those fancy massive ones that have been floating around the makeup world.

How much product do you get? You get 7 ml of product

Under the eyes or for spots?: I feel like this works under the eyes and wouldn’t make the best spot concealer.

Pros: Hydrating, blendable, easy to apply, sits well under the eyes and covers alright (though I always wear a corrector underneath). It’s also a very affordable concealer.

Cons: Shade range isn’t the best, sometimes it sits well under the eyes, other times it looks weird. So it can be a bit of a wild card. You don’t get that much product & being a wand concealer it’s going to run out fairly quickly.

Price: $14.95 AUD

Shade range: 4 shades are available

Availability: Priceline, Feel unique, Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse, Target, Big W, Coles

Overall thoughts: It’s a nice concealer. I’m happy using it but I wouldn’t say it’s one of my favorites. It’s just nice & it gets the job done.

Rating:  6.5/10

Would I repurchase it?: Most likely no. if it were on sale, I’d just pick it up to have it in the arsenal but it’s not a particularly amazing concealer – at least not for me.

And that wraps up the review! Have you guys tried this concealer? Or anything from Rimmel? What concealer have you been loving lately? Drop a comment and let’s have a chat. I hope you all have an awesome day and I’ll see you guys in the next post.

I actually love this concealer but when used on top of colour corrector. Using it on its own is rubbish, barely any coverage but I love the light reflecting finish that it gives.

I have to use a corrector every single time, regardless of the concealer or the coverage!

Nice concealer. Not bad for a drugstore brand especially for easy everyday use.

Great review. For some reason Rimmel concealers always seem to be pretty okay to me but I never stick with them. They aren’t all that interesting.

I agree, with rimmel base products they are only ever average to me but only the stay matte powder is my holy grail. Their lipstick game is strong though and their lash accelerator mascara is my holy grail!

I have tried the foundation as well, both were average to me, I don’t have much luck with rimmel base products. x
