Well hello there you gorgeous humans! It’s time for a review and when it comes to mascara, drugstore brands seem to know how to make awesome ones! Thank goodness for that as spending a lot of money on mascaras isn’t particularly fun. Now I’m talking about a very popular L’Oreal Paris mascara that is said to be a dupe for the too faced ‘better than sex’ mascara. I have tried a small sample of the too faced mascara so I will be talking about the two of them and whether they compare.
Okay, let’s jump into the review now!
The formula is on the thick side and a little dry BUT in no way does it clump the lashes or cause flaking onto the skin.
No. Being that this mascara is a volume amplifying mascara, a level of “clumping” needs to occur in order for your lashes to look thicker. This doesn’t happen in a gross way where you get the uni-lash but if you are more into defining mascaras and for your lashes to look separated – this mascara isn’t for you. Other than that it gives you so much drama & volume to the lashes without looking gross.
What does this mascara promise?
This mascara claims to have an ultra-soft brush that coats the lashes in a silky smooth formula that contains castor oil. Castor oil of course being super nourishing for the lashes! This mascara also promises to leave the lashes feather soft (with no flaking!) while giving you lots of volume.
Does this mascara deliver on these promises?
You definitely get lots of volume with this mascara! No flaking occurs and your lashes look fluffier rather than crispy, though I don’t exactly feel up my lashes when mascara is on. I also notice despite it being a long wearing mascara, I don’t notice a lot of my lashes fall out when I try to wear this mascara.
No smudging occurs with this mascara, it lasts very well!
Does it hold a curl?
I feel like with this mascara while it’s super voluminous you definitely have to go in with a lash curler! If you layer this mascara it doesn’t hold a curl as good because its formula is on the (heavier side) but it still does a nice job.
Is this mascara a dupe for the too faced ‘better than sex’ mascara?
Wand wise – the two mascaras look identical, they have the same curved wand shape, they are both bristle wands rather than plastic wands. In regards to how they look on the lashes, both are volumizing but I find the lash paradise to me more volumizing, the lashes look thicker. The better than sex mascara, gives you lashes volume but slightly less intense (it makes your lashes look fluffier). So I personally prefer lash paradise but if you hate any kind of clumping on the lashes but you still want volume, than the too faced mascara is more for you.
Is it difficult to remove?
Now I use a cleansing oil when it comes to makeup removal and this takes up my entire face of makeup easily. Usually I have no trace of mascara after removing my makeup via an oil, but with this mascara it definitely lingers. I go in with micellar water on a cotton round and remove the extra mascara that has remained around my eye. It isn’t a major issue and if anything it shows how long wearing this mascara is.
Super volumizing and gives a lot of drama to the lashes, it’s an affordable mascara (that’s frequently on sale). It also doesn’t smudge or flake onto the skin.
I honestly have no beef with this mascara. If you use a makeup wipe/or solely micellar water to remove your makeup, you might struggle to take off this mascara.
This mascara is so awesome! It really goes to show that when it comes to mascaras there are so many affordable options that leave it a bit unnecessary to go high end (with the exception of those few ‘treat yo self’ options). I’m a massive fan of this mascara and how it makes my lashes look, this one gets my seal of approval and I highly recommend it.
Would I repurchase it?
I definitely will be repurchasing this mascara! The good thing with drugstore brands is, it’s quite easy to find them on sale. So whenever I see this mascara on sale I’ll definitely be repurchasing it!
And that wraps up this review! Have you guys tried the quite talked about lash paradise mascara by L’Oreal Paris? Have you tried the too faced mascara that’s said to be a dupe? Which one did you prefer? Drop a comment and let me know! I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.
