Real techniques are one of my favourite makeup brush brands! They have insanely good quality with a bargain price tag! Who could complain about that?! I do wish some of their brushes that are only available in sets, were available separately but what can you do.
Okay so today I am going to talk to ya peeps about the real techniques contour brush. It is a part of a set but it deserves its own post. So if you want to hear my thoughts on this brush then keep on reading!
Its use?: As the name suggests this brush is designed for contouring. However, I have found so many different uses for this brush. It’s so good at applying concealer under the eyes (a rare thing to find with brushes), it’s also good at setting the under eye area and applying highlighter. There is very little that this brush can’t do
Is it part of a set of can it be individually purchased?: The downside to this brush is that it’s only available in a set which sucks as I want to get many many multiples of this brush. The set it is a part of is the ‘core collection’. On Iherb that very set is now called the flawless base set.
Does it do a good job?: Yes! For every use I have found for it, it does the job very well.
What I personally use it for?: As I only have one brush I have been using it for either contouring or to apply under eye concealer / set it.
Shape?: The shape of this brush is domed yet tapered – it’s very fluffy too which makes it super awesome at blending.
Pros: small and precise so you can get into nooks and crannies or if you are contouring get the product where you want it. It’s very soft and blends like a dream, it’s affordable (well the set is a decent price).
Cons: You can’t buy it separately, only as a set. So if you want multiples you will have to buy the entire site multiple times.
Price?: $26.82 AUD (on iherb), $47.50 on adore beauty and ry.com.au. The prices do range a bit depending where you get them but iherb always has the best prices.
Overall thoughts?: This brush is such an all rounder and can do so many different tasks well! It’s incredible at blending out both powder and cream product and I just wish this gem was sold separately I’d buy like another 5! It’s definitely a brush to check out, the overall set is quite good so you got nothing to lose!
And that’s a wrap on this review! Have you guys tried this brush (or the set in general)? Have you tried anything from real techniques? What are your thoughts? Drop your thoughts in a comment down below, I’d love to hear them. I hope you all have a great day, I love you guys and I’ll see you in the next post.
