I have definitely been on a skincare kick in the last 6 months + it’s no secret that I’ve always struggled with being consistent with skincare (especially having an AM & PM routine every single day – an underrated skill!). Despite having a bad day every now and then, I have become much more consistent and gotten and found my groove – as you can tell by all the empty posts that have been dropping on my blog.
So I wanted to chat to you about one brand that I have been loving over this skincare “journey” (sorry to use that cliche’ word – I haven’t had my coffee yet so I couldn’t think of a less cheesy word). If I had to some up Medik8 in one word I’d say “effective” – they don’t just fluff up their brand with ineffective products. Everything they have is designed to help improve your skin – and it definitely does just that.
So I wanted to talk to you guys about my favourite products from the brand that I’ve tried so far.
Let’s jump in the post.
Don’t you just love it when you discover a cleanser that actually cleanses your skin … and also doesn’t dry out the skin. I have this thing with cream cleanses, everything from their texture to how they perform always has me preferring them over gel cleanses. This stuff doesn’t lather up much and if you are in need of a MEGA clean then this might not be for you but I love using this every morning for a nice gentle cleansing. It also smells kinda like orange peel too. Btdubs – it also makes an awesome second cleanse.
Eye cream is a tricky thing for me, though I desperately need it I often accidentally forget to apply it (you know when you apply your serum, then whack on your night cream only to realise you skipped eye cream …. Opps!). I also struggle to find an eye cream that isn’t too heavy and aggravate my mila. Then I opened up a tub of this bad boy and I can happily say I’ve been using eye cream every night since! It’s thick, creamy and nourishing but the mila under my eyes isn’t aggravated. I just get a good dose of hydration and nourishment under the eyes and a hopefulness that no new creases will form under there. I also like that you get a seriously good amount of product (take note you other skincare brands and quit being stingy with your eye creams). This stuff is seriously good!
This product is the first time I ever included retinol into my skincare routine. Hearing about how magical of an ingredient it is, I’ve always wanted to put it to the test but I was also a scardy cut as it’s quite an intense ingredient to use. I gradually introduced it into my skin (twice a week for 2 weeks / every other night for 2 weeks / following that you can use it every night, I’ve just kept it at every other night). At first my skin went through a little bit of a purge but I believe that was due to an iffy micellar water that I was using (I no longer am) and my SPF game was weak (still is). But now I’ve come out the other side and I’m seriously happy with how my skin has been looking. I can’t put my finger on it but there’s something about my complexion that has greatly improved and I know it was because of retinol. Now fingers crossed it keeps my skin looking youthful too.
I’ve tried many variations of this serum. I feel like many different skincare brands make their own version – the ordinary’s hyaluronic acid, the Hylamide low molecular HA but I have got to say this version from Medik8 has got to be the best quality one I’ve tried. It’s enormously hydrating, plumping but in no way is it sticky, and something about the formula feels better to as it immediately sinks into the skin! My skin is left hydrated, plump and smooth and in no way sticky or greasy!
Another retinol product but in the form of a cream rather than liquid drops. I actually feel like I prefer this better because you get your dose of retinol while still hydrating your skin. Also compared to the retinol drops, you get more product 50 g in a tub vs. 15 mls in that tiny bottle. I love how nourishing and hydrating this product is but it still sinks in super quick – something I need out of my night cream.

Usually, when it comes to foaming skincare products I stay away. Since it’s medik8 – I trust their quality and the ingredients they used so I made an exception with this product. It’s such an unusual but effective cleanser. It’s super foamy yet cleans the skin so well and doesn’t leave it dry or feeling tight at all! Ever since trying this product out I’ve been using it as a second cleanse, following a cleansing oil and my makeup is completely off and my skin is left extra clean and still feeling soft and hydrated.
I haven’t used many “peptide” themed skincare products before so I didn’t know what to expect. What this serum (or at least I use it as a serum) is like to me is a combination of a super hydrating and plumping serum and a nourishing (quick-sinking) facial oil. My skin feels immediately soft, hydrated and plump – a feeling that carries on till morning my also super nourished. Whenever I use this, I notice a major difference in my skin the following morning. The hydration levels are still up and my skin feel so happy! Whatever the magic is in this little bottle – I’m a big fan of it!
Last but definitely not least is the Advanced night restore – one fancy ass night cream! Now I’m not going to lie it’s very expensive! BUT after dabbling into a couple of fancy night creams this has quickly become one of my favourites. Why because it sinks in quickly! I’ve only ever tried one other night cream that sunk in quickly (and that one was only $20 cheaper and a gel formula). This night cream is nourishing, creamy and has a super thick consistency but within 2-3 minutes your skin has fully absorbed it and feels like a baby’s butt. It also doesn’t overload my skin and
And that wraps up this post! Have you guys tried any products from Medik8 skincare? What skincare have you been using lately? Be sure to tell me in the comments below! As always I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.
