One thing that is a simple fact – us gals never mess around when it comes to concealer! Continuing on with these ‘collection’ posts that give you a true indication of what a hoarder I actually am – today I’m going to talk to you guys about concealer! I’ve recently done a little audit of my concealer collection because I was sick and tired of having many off days where my concealer creased badly or my dark circles were still peaking. Basically, one by one I tried each concealer for 3-4 days in a row. If each day I was happy with my concealer, the concealer would stay, if it creased or had iffy days, it got demoted to an eyeshadow primer (so it can be used up and then not repurchased).
So basically every concealer I chat to you guys about here is tried and true and will look good underneath the eyes (unless it’s a spot concealer). I haven’t purchased a new concealer since last September – so you know this girl is more than happy with her concealer collection if she isn’t hoarding any new ones.
So let’s just jump straight into it!
I’m pretty sure every cat and their dog has heard about this concealer. It is everything and then some. It’s full coverage, non-cakey, hydrating. It is slightly on the thicker side in terms of its formula (so don’t apply too much) but it’s just such an incredible concealer. It gives you a flawless under
I am such a massive fan Bourjois base products (particularly their foundations – as you will see by my foundation collection posts), so of course I had to try out the concealers. This concealer is super lightweight, creamy, hydrating and blends out very nicely. It covers quite well actually considering it has such a weightless formula but I wouldn’t call it a full coverage by any means.
The infamous Maybelline age rewind concealer was one of the first concealers I picked up and I still love it. It just does the job and it does it well and I love the fuzzy ball applicator. It covers well, lasts well and doesn’t look funky under the eyes. I highly recommend this one, it’s a classic in my eyes. |Review|
For a while, I wasn’t the biggest fan of this concealer. I never found it to give much coverage but when I started getting into under eye correctors – I fell for this concealer. It sits so well under the eyes and looks super natural! I’m quite a fan of this concealer and I’ve repurchased it quite a few times. |Review|
This is quite an underrated brand, to be fair most people know this brand by the infomercials they do. I don’t know about you but anything featured in infomercials, I don’t trust. But when I saw this brand at Priceline, I thought why not try them out, heck it was a 40% sale after all! This concealer is quite awesome. It has very good coverage, lasts well and sits under the eyes nicely. It works as a spot concealer too. Not too shabby for an infomercial brand!
My love affair with Bourjois continues and the healthy mix range is my favourite range of all time! This concealer is super hydrating, covers super well and it is so easy to work with. I have been reaching for this one quite a lot!
When I heard pixi woo loved this concealer, I had to try it! The formula of this concealer is heaven. It’s silky, creamy and hydrating and feels like nothing on the skin. It covers very well and just is the perfect concealer for under the eyes |Review|
Last but most definitely not least is another Maybelline concealer. One that I kinda love more than the other Maybelline concealers (but at the same time I love them all equally!). It’s quite a thin consistency yet it lasts well and covers well, and something about it just makes it feel as though it’s quite a high quality. This concealer I definitely recommend to you guys. |Review|
This is a new concealer to the collection and it’s been getting lots of hype as its allegedly a dupe for Tarte shape tape. I do own the tarte concealer but I haven’t played with this one enough to see if the two are in fact a dupe. I do know that I’m quite enjoying this Makeup revolution concealer and its working well under the eyes.
While this concealer can at times be a little tricky to get the product out, you have to push the pump firmly and don’t have much control over how much product you get out. I find that it sits under the eyes with little to no creasing and it covers so well.
This particular spot concealer is not for the faint-hearted. It’s seriously thick and full coverage and you only need a tiny bit. This won’t look cute under the eyes – that’s for sure and you just need to dab a tiny bit over blemishes to cover them up! I reach for this when I have active blemishes on my face and I feel like wearing a lighter coverage foundation – or perhaps skipping foundation all together! |Review|
This little bottle of goodness is basically a cross between skincare and makeup. It’s both a concealer and a spot treatment in one! It’s handy to apply this before foundation as you want it to make direct contact with the skin. It covers well and sits over blemishes without breaking apart but it’s also not drying and difficult to blend.
This concealer is similar to the tarte shape tape (some say much better). I do like it a tiny bit better than shape tape but not enough to completely replace it. It’s full coverage but sits so well under the eyes. It covers up everything (with the help of a corrector – this gal needs a corrector). I love this concealer A LOT just like the born this way foundation. I’ll definitely be repurchasing this alongside shape tape!
And that finally wraps up this post. If you’ve managed to stay awake throughout this entire post, you are awesome! Have I mentioned a concealer that you are a fan of? Anything I missed on? Drop a comment and let me know! I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.
