Good morning you gorgeous humans!
So it’s no secret that I’m a major fan of Makeup Revolution – I love me a brand that has a massive range and happens to be affordable AF. This product despite not being the most exciting is something I’ve been reaching for a lot because of its endless uses. So I thought – I need to tell you guys about it!
Let’s get started!
What does the palette contain? This palette contains two white vanilla powders a pale yellow powder, three blushes (a pale dusty pink, a subtle peach/coral and a dusty rose shade) and you get two contour shades – a light brown and a dark brown. All powders in this palette are matte.
What can you use this palette for? This palette has a multitude of different uses, it really is super versatile. You can use the two white/vanilla shades for – setting under eye concealer, setting eye shadow primer, highlighting underneath the eyes, bridge of the nose, cleaning up underneath contour or bronzer. You can use the banana shade to brighten under the eyes and also set
Is it easy to blend?: The powders are quite soft, they do have kick back and are a little on the “dusty” side so the brush picks up a lot of product. Aside from that, they do blend quite easily as the powders are still soft.
Pigmentation: The powders are all very pigmented, of course the vanilla shades aren’t completely opaque but they still work very well. The blushes and contour shades are extremely pigmented.
Does it work well on fair skinned?: The palette is very friendly to fair skin tones, the contour shades are the only shade potentially tricky to use, depending on how fair in skin tone you are and the blush “peach beach” is on the brighter side (so those who are on the extra fair spectrum tread carefully with that). I use the contour shades more as eye shadow as well as contouring. So if the shades are too dark you can use them as eye shadow.
Is it a one stop-shop kind of palette?: Definitely! From setting concealer, to cleaning up under bronzer/contour/setting eye shadow primer/blush/contour and eye shadow – this palette has a lot of uses!
Longevity: They last the standard amount of time a powder product lasts – they aren’t overly long wearing.
Packaging: Sleek plastic palette with a clear lid.
Price: $27 AUD
Pros: The pan size is massive, the palette has a clear lid, the powders are versatile and pigmented, the powders aren’t chalky or drying.
Cons: The powders do have fall out and kick back which can make them a little messy to use on the face (especially the blush). The size of the palette is massive (the surface area) so it takes up space to store. The contour shades are also not super friendly for light skin tones.
Overall thoughts: Despite it not being an exciting palette, I find lots of versatility and use for it. The powders work well and can be used as eye shadow as well of the face. I especially love the two vanilla shades as they are awesome for cleaning your bronzer or contour for a more sculpted finish.
Would I repurchase it?: No
And that wraps up this post! Have you guys tried this palette from Makeup Revolution or any of their other products? What were your thoughts? Drop a comment and let’s chat! I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you in the next post.
