I don’t know if you lovely humans have gathered by now (maybe it’s more obvious from Instagram) but I am crazy about Colour Pop …. And highlighters! When Colour Pop came out with a powder formula – I did a little happy dance! I love their cream formula but with a powder formula, you don’t have to face the day where the product dries out. Powder lasts longer and for this makeup hoarder that is exactly what I need.
Any who! Ramblings aside, today I am going to be talking about the colour pop powder highlighters (not the duos – the actual single pan highlighters).
Okay let’s go!
Is the shade range suitable to many skin tones? Yes! They have a wide selection of shades from very pale shades to very tan shades so everyone can glow!
Is it overly glittery? No, when you swatch it with you, finger it can look like it’s going to be very glittery but when you apply it with a brush – it gives your cheekbones a beam of light.
Is it too natural? Definitely not. These highlighters are more towards the blinding side I’d say about 85-90% on their way there – not the Becca level but still very very very glowy!
Is it available in many shades There are currently 16 shades (a few limited edition ones thrown in there)
Formula? The formula is quite smooth, non-chalky. It isn’t as buttery as some of the other highlighters I’ve tried but it doesn’t look powdery on the skin when you apply it.
Highlighter on point? Yes indeed!
Day or night appropriate?: I wear them both ways. They are definitely not on the subtle side that leaves them boring for night time use.
Where is it best for applying on the face? I apply them to the high points of my cheekbones. They work well as an inner corner highlight as well.
Price: $8 US
Availability: The colour pop website.
Pros: super glowy, wide shade range, affordable, sold in a compact as well as a pan so you can put them in an empty palette or collect them in their packaging.
Cons: Not as buttery as some other highlighter formulas but it’s still gorgeous on the skin!
Who would love this? If you love intense highlighters, a few of the shades are quite unusual (so if you are into that), if you love making custom palettes and love a bargain – you will love these highlighters.
Who wouldn’t love this? If you love a subtle extra natural highlight – these won’t be your cup of tea.
Overall thoughts I am a massive fan of these highlighters. It isn’t easy finding affordable highlighters that give that glazed/blinding effect! These are definitely a massive hit with me. I love layering them with the cream highlighters for an extra POP. These highlighters are just so awesome and I definitely recommend checking them out.
Would I repurchase? YES!
