Murad ‘City Skin Overnight detox’ Moisturizer

Well hello, there you gorgeous humans! It’s time for a review and I’ve been loving lots of Murad products so I thought I’d chat to you about one that’s gotten me into night treatments/night creams. In the past, I use to use whatever moisturizer I had for my AM routine at night. I found many night creams were just heavy moisturizers and didn’t do anything special. This Murad one has definitely made me keen on night treatments/creams.

So how about I stop waffling on and jump straight into the review?!

Let’s go!

Targeted skin type: All skin types

Facts about this skincare product: Claims to detoxify & revitalize the skin overnight. The formula is packed with super-charged antioxidants from Marrubium plant stem cells, neutralizes pollutants & strengthens skin’s barrier while you sleep. It includes vitamin C to brighten and even out skin tone. This moisturizer also aims to plump the skin & reduce fine lines and wrinkles, allowing you to wake up to healthy and radiant looking skin.

What is its purpose? This product is essentially like a “night cream” but with extra oomph! It allows your skin to detoxify and gain nourishment overnight so you wake up to glowy, healthy-looking skin. Of course, it’s also designed to hydrate the skin and leave it feeling soft & supple.

Does it achieve this? Yes, it does! I don’t know what it is about this moisturizer but when I wake up in the morning my complexion looks so much healthier. It’s also super-duper hydrating and my skin feels soft, supple and smooth!

Packaging: It’s a pump like packaging but a little bit more unusual – you essentially press down on the flat surface after removing the lid and the product oozes out.

How much product do you get?: You get 50 grams of product

Did it irritate my skin? I didn’t feel any irritation whatsoever, my skin isn’t overly sensitive but this moisturizer contains a level of Vitamin C so if that doesn’t agree with your skin, keep that in mind. Also, as always if you have sensitive skin read the ingredients list to double check it doesn’t contain anything that disagrees with your skin.

How many times a week do you use it? I use this every night as the final touch to my PM routine.

Does your skin adapt to it over time and therefore become less effective?: I haven’t noticed this at all. I wouldn’t say the effects are super potent for them to result in a decline in effectiveness.

Formula: This product has the formula of your standard cream moisturizer. It doesn’t feel heavy or too thick and blends into the skin very easily.

Pros: Super hydrating, lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. The skin feels nourished, soft & supple. You wake up in the morning and your skin’s complexion looks super healthy and radiant.

Cons: It’s quite expensive and you only get 50 grams of product

Price: $105 AUD

Availability: Sephora AU, Murad site

Rating: 8/10

Overall thoughts: This is quite a lovely moisturizer/night treatment. I haven’t come across anything like it and I’ve been loving what it has been doing to my skin. It definitely feels taken care of and nourished and who doesn’t love waking up in the morning to radiant, healthy-looking skin.

Would I repurchase it? There’s another night treatment from Murad that I want to try first before I decide whether I’ll repurchase this or stick to that other night treatment.

And that wraps up this post! Have you guys tried this moisturizer from Murad or any other Murad skincare products? Drop a comment and let’s chat about it! I hope you have an awesome day and I’ll see you in the next post.

This sounds like a decent product but if I am to be completely honest, I never have much luck with Murad.

Yes it can be a hit or miss brand and with a high price point, it can be a gamble to try out their products. The two products that I’m forever obsessed with from their is their pomegranate mask and their Vitamin C peel. x

Sounds like a great moisturizer! I have yet to try anything from Murad but hope to when I get through some of my skin care inventory.
