The Pixi Correction Concentrate

Whether my makeup look is super simple or a full face – my main mission with makeup is to cover up my ever so stubborn dark circles! With me it’s not sleep deprivation that causes them because I’m a sleepy gal and need my 8 hours; mine is more of a variety of blue/purple veins that not even cement could cover-up.

So let’s say I take my under eye makeup routine seriously. Hence why I’m going to be talking about this little corrector. For some correctors may seem like a gimmick but I assure you they aren’t. It’s all about picking the right tone. Equally, you can use a creamy lipstick or cream blush (if you find the right shade of peach as a corrector.

Before I stumbled upon this gem from Pixi I was literally using red lipstick as a corrector – which surprisingly works well though I think next time I’ll try a more peach/orange lipstick shade.

Not to be overly dramatic but since discovering this corrector. I’ve repurchased it several times and gotten backups. I never ever skip this product in my makeup routine regardless of how simple I keep it. If you’ve been seeing my live flat lays over on Instagram, you’ll know I feature this bad boy heavily (if it’s not in the flat lay I’ve still used it just haven’t included it).

How about we get talking about the actual product now?

Coverage – how opaque is it? It gives you an opaque peach color, it isn’t sheer. It immediately covers up your under-eye area, canceling out dark circles and discoloration before you’ve even applied your concealer. Depending on how far you are will determine which shade to get because you don’t want an orange tinge around your under eyes so if you’re of a fair skin tone (go with the peach over the apricot shade0.

Longevity:  Longevity doesn’t really factor in with the corrector as it’s underneath your concealer. what I can tell you is that it doesn’t cause any of my concealers to wear out quickly or cause them to go crusty. That’s got to prompt some bonus points?

Does it cause your concealer to oxidize? No. On my skin tone, it does not interfere with the shade of my concealer over it or causes oxidation. My concealer looks the same as if I weren’t wearing it only discoloration, dark circles & blue/purple veins are covered much better and not shining through. Though depending on your skin tone, those with who are very fair will probably stick to the lighter shade of this corrector. Also, if your actual concealer contains minimal coverage the corrector may shine through – just something to be conscious of.

Does it sit well underneath concealer (does it cause the concealer to crease?): Yes! The concealer applies just the same, doesn’t prompt the concealer to behave worse, go crusty or crease!

Formula: This corrector has a balm-like formula. It applies smoothly, is fairly hydrating but doesn’t feel greasy. It also warms up when you apply it with your fingers.

Application: I apply it with my finger, swiping it underneath my under eyes, and then I directly apply concealer over it – blending everything out with a damp beauty blender.

Shade range: There are 2 shades in total – brightening peach (ideal for fair skin tones) & awakening apricot. I can use both.

Packaging: Small glass jar with the product inside.

Pros:  Works so well at canceling out dark circles and discoloration under the eyes. It sits underneath concealer nicely without causing creasing or caking. It has a smooth, hydrating formula and applies easily. It’s also very affordable and from a cruelty-free brand.

Cons: For us Aussies, Pixi is only available online although on many different sites and I wish the jar was larger and had more product.

Price: $25 AUD

Availability: Pixi beauty site, cult beauty, glam raider, TVSN, ry.com.auadore beauty,

Rating: 9/10

Overall thoughts: The fact that I use this EVERY SINGLE TIME I WEAR MAKEUP speaks volumes. It makes such a difference with my under eye area to the point where I can’t imagine not using it. I couldn’t recommend this product more and I won’t’ stop using it.

Would I repurchase it?: I have multiple times in both shades and will keep doing so.

This sounds like such a lovely products! It’s awesome when you find that one product that turns out to be a complete game changer. I do agree that it’s quite a little pot, you’d think it should be at least as big as a concealer jar. This shade would definitely be too dark for me personally but I’m keep to check out that lighter shade. Great review!
