Benefit ‘Hoola Lite’ Bronzer

Though I’ve become an absolute hard-core addict to cream products lately. I haven’t gone cold turkey from powders. In fact, out of the cheek category, powder bronzers have become my favorite category because I still have so many ride or die favorites! Even though the Original Benefit Hoola bronzer is an OG and still talked about I thought I’d tell you guys about the lesser-known benefit bronzer that’s actually better in my opinion because it’s pale-gal approved.

So let’s get started shall we?

What are the claims of this product?

This bronzer claims to be the perfect shade of fair skin gals and has a perfect amount of ‘bronzer pigment’ to warm up the complexion without looking streaky, muddy, or orange.

Does it deliver?

Yes, it does! The product description nails it perfectly. It’s essentially super wearable for those with fair skin tones, it’s sheer but buildable making it easy to apply without looking like you have two stripes on your face. It also has the perfect neutral tone to give your skin warmth without it looking overly orange or like you’ve rubbed some mud on your face!

Shade / Easy to use?

Unlike the original Hoola bronzer (which I have tried), this shade is super flattering and wearable for those with a very fair skin tone. The original Hoola bronzer works more as a contour shade for those with a fair skin tone. It’s sheer but buildable, blends very nicely, and gives you a warmer complexion without looking muddy. Its shade is super neutral – doesn’t look cool and ashy on the skin but doesn’t look warm and sun-kissed either.

Formula / Finish / Longevity / Pigmentation

It has a matte finish, finely milled, and applies smoothly on the skin. It’s sheer but buildable so it doesn’t smack your face with immediate pigment (which isn’t pleasant in a bronzer). It also lasts nicely throughout the day. Of course, if you apply it over a long-wearing foundation / vs. a foundation that doesn’t wear well – that will also impact the wear time of the bronzer.

This may be an unpopular opinion but does any else get infuriated by the boxy packaging of benefit powders? I mean sure it’s cute but to store it in your complexion, it’s seriously bulky AF & can make it awkward for the brush to access the product. I’ve also closed the lid incorrectly on multiple occasions and pierced the product with the corner of the lid. I definitely prefer sleeker packaging.

How much does it cost?

$54 AUD

How much product do you get?

8 grams of product

Where to purchase it?

Sephora, Adore beauty

4/5 (I’m taking a point off for that bulky packaging).

Who might not like this?

Of course, if you have a warmer/deeper skin tone this bronzer won’t work for you. Also if you’re someone who frequently fake tans, you’ll find this bronzer unusable whenever you have a fake tan on. Something to think about especially if you find you are rarely without a fake tan.

Overall thoughts?

I’m quite picky when it comes to bronzer because I have a couple of ride or die favorites, so if any bronzer falls short of that – it’s not going to be reached for. This bronzer is super easy to use, sheer but buildable (which is a requirement because too much pigment in a bronzer isn’t a good thing), it also blends super easily. Aside from the clunky packaging – it gets 2 thumbs up from me!

Would I recommend this to you / repurchase

I definitely recommend this for the pale skin gals out there – not sure about labeling it in the repurchase category – I don’t through the word repurchase around lightly and I do have a lot of bronzers I love. So only time will tell!

That wraps up this review! Have you tried this bronzer or the original Hoola bronzer? Which did you prefer? What bronzers have you been loving, drop those names in the comments below! Thanks for hanging out with me today and taking the time to have a read. I love you guys and I’ll see you next time. x B

Fabulous review! I don’t mind the box packaging as the Benefit box powders were actually one of the very first blushes and bronzers I started using when I got into makeup a bit more. I find you can swirl around your brush quite well without making a mess. But I do agree that they are quite bulky to store.

I haven’t tried the Hoola Lite yet, but I used to love the original back in the day. I haven’t used mine in ages! It sounds like I would definitely love this Hoola Lite for an all over bronze, and you’re right, I do use my original hoola more for contouring than for bronzing!

I don’t know why the packaging bothers me but a couple of times I’ve been clumsy enough to not close the lid properly, which causes the pan to be pierced (it drives me mental). You definitely would love this version! The original is nice but for me, it works as a lovely contour shade not an all-over bronze shade. The original does make an awesome contouring shade because it isn’t too cool toned but I am a sucker for all over bronzers.

I think I would definitely suit Hoola Lite a lot more than the original as it’s quite dark for me, but Lite sounds like a good option for those with lighter skintones xx

Definitely! I could only use the original as a contour shade (and I hade it in one of those Benefit face palettes which I didn’t reach for much). The lighter option is far better. x

Thank you. I know right. Especially because this is cardboard material as well.
