Ole Henrikson ‘Cold Plunge’ Pore Mask

I am simultaneously a face mask junkie and too lazy for them! I don’t know how it’s possible but it is. Face masks excite me because they are like a quick skincare fix in a bottle. While most of our skincare takes quite a while to see effects, some face masks hit you with that instant result. I wouldn’t say the face mask I’m going to talk about today fits in that category but I do love it and honestly, the fact that it’s blue in color makes it the best option for a face mask selfie. Not that it matters whether a face masks makes for a good selfie …. But still, we all love a good face mask selfie!

Now I sense a tangent coming so I’m going to stop myself and dive straight into the review.

Let’s do this!

What are the claims of this product?

This face mask claims to reduce the size of your pores, purify your skin while giving your skin a cool refreshing feeling. It also promises to control oils and improve skin texture and give your skin a glow.

Do they deliver?

This face mask claims quite a lot. Skincare brands shouldn’t promise the world in a singular product because it makes the product appear as those it’s the answers to life problems. Does the mask do everything it claims? NO. Do I love the mask? YES! For me, this mask gives me skin a nice detox (without making it feel tight and dry like a charcoal mask).

The cool tingling feeling feels refreshing and it does help clear out my t-zone from oil build-up. I wouldn’t say it gives me a glow off the bat nor helps with skin texture (I have other face masks specifically targeted for skin texture that work way better). Also, pores can’t change in size but as this face mask gives a cooling sensation (and we know the cold can tighten pores while the warmth can “soften” them) – I notice them looking a little tighter but nothing dramatic. What you get is super clean, refreshed skin. Also, the color of this face mask gives me life!

The ingredients?

Alpine Willowherb, snow lotus, AHA, and BHAs along with Kaolin, Glycerin, Lactic acid, avocado oil, peppermint.

Packaging?

This face mask comes in a squeezy tube with a flip lid (super easy and mess-free).

How much does it cost?

$49 AUD

How much product do you get?

90 ml of product

Where to purchase it?

Sephora

Rating?

9/10

Who might not like this?

I personally think this skin is an all-rounder, detoxifying without being overly drying. I’d recommend not going in expecting this face mask to solve all your skin problems and get your crush to text you back but nevertheless, it is an awesome mask. If your skin is on the sensitive side try getting a sample & read that ingredients list.

Overall thoughts?

My skin feels clean and refreshed when I use this mask and it doesn’t feel dried out. I’m a massive fan, I constantly reach for this mask and often prefer it over charcoal masks (which I now only apply on my t-zone). I’m also living for the gorgeous blue color of this face mask (not a common color in face masks). It gives your skin a cool effect and is all in all an awesome treat for your skin.

Would I recommend this to you / repurchase

I definitely plan to repurchase this (in fact I’m almost out of my current one so my next Sephora order will definitely include this face mask.

Are you a face mask person? Have you tried any Ole Henrikson skincare? I can tell you this brand is easily becoming one of my favorites. Pretty much every product I’ve tried from them so far I’ve loved. Drop a comment with what skincare brands and face masks you’ve been loving. Thank you for hanging around with me while we talk skincare. I love you guys and I will see you next time. x B

I personally love this mask but if peeps are definitely going in expecting it to do magic it doesn’t do that.
