Cover FX ‘Water Cloud’ Primer

I’m the type of gal that truly thinks – TO NOT PRIME IS A CRIME! Until you find a primer that you love, it’s easy to think primers are a gimmick. A lot of them can be and if you are one of the lucky ones who simply don’t need a primer (A.K.A your foundation looks awesome without it) – then most likely you will continue to think primers are a gimmick!

Well, I can assure you primers are not a gimmick. For me, I need my primer to allow my foundation to go on smoother and sit nicely on my skin as well as give me hydration so I don’t look cakey. Also, to keep my makeup looking fresher for longer.

Today’s foundation that I’m going to talk about falls in the category of hydration with a dollop of “helps foundation goes on smoother”.

Let’s jump in!

What are the claims of this product?

This product claims to be a cooling mousse primer that refreshes and defends the skin against pollution and blue light. It promises to ensure maximum blend-ability, even application, and all-day wear. The primer is also Vegan, cruelty-free, and free from parabens, fragrance, mineral oil, talc, gluten, sulfates, and phthalates.

Do they deliver?

The primer definitely has a light-airy texture. It feels weightless on the skin, super hydrating but it doesn’t cause the foundation to slip and slide on the face or dissolve. A lot of hydrating primers feel just like a glorified moisturizer but this primer’s texture is super unique. It gives the skin so much hydration without working against the foundation. It may not specifically make your foundation last all day but it does maximize hydration without screwing up your foundation.

Packaging?

Squeezy tube packaging.

How much does it cost?

$64 AUD

How much product do you get?

30 ml – the standard amount for a primer

Where to purchase it?

Sephora, BeautyLish & Beauty Bay

Rating?

9.5/10

Who might not like this?

Super oily skin tones may not go crazy for this primer because their need is longevity BUT just because you have an oily skin type doesn’t mean you don’t need hydration. Also, it doesn’t give the skin a greasy finish so it won’t make you look oilier.

Overall thoughts?

This primer is easily one of my favorite hydrating primers. It feels weightless on the skin but gives much-needed hydration and sinks in quickly. It doesn’t affect your foundation’s longevity whatsoever (meaning it won’t cause your foundation to break up or slip and slide). Another bonus – it’s free from lots of not so great ingredients. I highly recommend this one!

Will I repurchase?

I do plan to repurchase this one!

That wraps up this review. Have you guys tried out this primer? Are you on the “primers are a gimmick” bandwagon or is it a step you can’t skip? What are some hydrating primers you love? Drop your recommendations in the comments below! Thank you for spending the time to hang out with me in today’s post. I love you guys and I will see you next time. x B
