Too Faced ‘Salted Caramel’ Palette

I rarely post makeup reviews after only owning a product for like a month. I like to take my time so that I truly know how I feel about a product. Also, I have a lot of products to review for you guys so it’s only fair I go in order of “how long I’ve had it in my collection” as a general rule of thumb. Today, I’m breaking that rule for you guys because A) this product is limited edition and I don’t want to talk about it only once it’s no longer in stock. B) It’s freaking good and I already know I love it!

So I am going to cut the chit chat short today and jump straight into the review!

What are the claims of this product?

It claims to be salted caramel scented and consists of warm buttery neutrals. It also claims to be gluten, paraben & phthalates free!

Do they deliver?

The palette definitely has that classic Too Faced eyeshadow scent (smelling of a sweet dessert). The shadows are very pigmented, smooth, buttery, and incredible. You guys know how obsessed I am with warm tones – we’re going on numerous years so it’s safe to say it’s not a fad I will get over.

Formula / Pigmentation / Longevity?

The formula of these shadows is smooth, buttery, and very pigmented! They definitely don’t fade or wear off easily but I like to go in with a base on the lids (e.g. concealer or an eye shadow primer). I do have oily eyelids and find by the end of the day if I skip primer they will crease.

Do the shadows blend well?

The shadows are very easy to use, even if you aren’t a frequent wearer of eye shadow. The only thing to look out for is being that the matte shades are very pigmented, don’t go too heavy-handed when dipping your brush in. It’s far better to add as you go rather than applying too much and struggling to blend it out.

Shade range?

I can easily say that I adore every single shade in this palette. The palette has 8 shades – 4 mattes and 4 shimmers. The matte shades consist of a vanilla shade (perfect for setting eyeshadow primer and under the brow bone). There is are two medium tone matte brown shades (one being very warm and the other being a more neutral/slightly red-brown). There’s also a deep matte brown shade in this palette. With the shimmers in this palette, there is a light bronzer a medium-dark bronze and a rose gold shimmer – all three are wearable for all over the lid! The fourth shimmer is slightly different as it’s a matte medium-dark warm brown with gold sparkles throughout it; it’s not overly shimmery but it isn’t matte to the point I can wear it on the crease. I love applying this one on the outer lid.

Top row (from left) – Oooey Gooey, Golden sugar, Drizzle it, and Caramel apple. Bottom row (from left) – Butter me up, Soft and chewy, Toffee and Make me melt.

Packaging?

This palette comes in that classic Too Faced tin packaging with the words ‘salted caramel’ engraved in a large font. There’s also a drawing of salted caramel on the cover! Too Faced is forever the queen of cute makeup packaging!

How much does it cost?

$43 AUD

How much product do you get?

6.7 grams

Where to purchase it?

Mecca Cosmetica

Rating?

10/10 – I adore this palette!

Who might not like this?

If you don’t like warm tone eye shadow (we can’t be friends by the way! Just kidding : ) ) but this palette won’t float your boat if you dig more neutral/cool tones.

Overall thoughts?

There are few products that have me stalking the website waiting for their launch. This was one of them! I literally even live chatted with the customer service team to find out when the product launches and I purchased it the day it launched. I have become completely obsessed with mini eye shadow palettes – who would have guessed it? It’s no surprise by this palette why I was obsessed at first glance. A lot of warm-toned palettes go very orange/red heavy – I don’t wear orange/red tones – I prefer more wearable warm tones and this palette has that! Also, I don’t usually gravitate towards Holiday releases but this one is 100% worth it

Would I recommend this to you / repurchase

Yes! I don’t usually dish out reviews this early on a product BUT as it’s a limited edition, I needed to get my thoughts out ASAP. If you love warm tones I cannot recommend this palette enough?! Run don’t work. I wish they made this palette permanent because it’s freaking gorgeous!

That wraps up this review! Have you guys tried this palette or any of the Too Faced eye shadows? Have you picked up any holiday makeup launches? Drop a comment and let’s have a chat! I hope you all have an awesome day and I’ll see you next time. x B

I do wish they didn’t though, scent may be fun but I can do without it! I don’t mind it in eyeshadows but I had to declutter their peach loose setting powder which performed so good but was so scented i could taste peach in my mouth.
