Compared to makeup, I do feel like in the department of skincare more often than not you’re going to find those higher-performing products in the more luxury skincare department. This isn’t a blanket rule but if I had to choose between unlimited access to high-end skincare (but I had to stick to drugstore makeup) or vice versa – I definitely would choose high-end skincare.
Today, I’m not talking about high-end skincare because there is affordable skincare out there that works so well! There are definitely categories of skincare that aren’t worth spending tons of $$$ on and while I prefer going high-end for acids – this particular product is a diamond in the ruff!
Let’s get started!
What are the claims of this product?
It claims to refine pores, brighten the complexion, and decongest the skin to improve the skin’s natural exfoliation process. It also contains lactic & hyaluronic acid and contains 5% Glycolic acid as well as salicylic acid.
Does it deliver?
Yes! I personally prefer these over the day time version because I feel like they make the biggest difference for my skin. It’s really assisted with texture and maintaining the smoothness of my skin in between the days I’ve used an AHA/BHA face mask. It also helps minimize breakouts as whenever a breakout is looming this stuff kills that bacteria and helps speed up the healing process.
Targeted skin type?
All skin types will benefit from this product. Although sensitive skin types tread very carefully (perhaps the day version (or day version for sensitive skin) may prevent your skin from being irritated).
Packaging and how much product you get?
60 thin cotton rounds (which are super thin) come in a plastic tub. They have recently launched a larger size with 100 pads – much better value and when I run out of my current stash I will be purchasing the larger size.
Does it irritate the skin?
For my skin type, it doesn’t irritate me. I usually follow with a hydrating facial mist just to get some hydration and calmness to my skin but I use this product every night (not on the nights I use retinol) and my skin is fine. It’s a potent product but not potent like Alpha H liquid gold. If your skin is on the sensitive side perhaps stick to the daytime version of this product or the version designed for sensitive skin.
How many times a week do you use it?
I use these every night but the product recommends you to use it 2-3 times a week and for sensitive skin types to use this product only once a week.
- Skin texture is improved and maintained.
- You get 60 cotton rounds and they are nicely saturated with product
- The packaging is mess-free and travel friendly
- The price is reasonable (and it’s easy to find this product on sale).
- My skin isn’t sensitive so I find I need the potent stuff to get results and this delivers!
- The cotton rounds are so stinking thin it can be really annoying to separate them when you want to use one.
$34.99 AUD – The 100 Pack is only $40 AUD (definitely better value)
Where can I buy them?
It isn’t easy finding exfoliating acids that are awesome in the more affordable skincare brands but these are definitely one of them! They are convenient to use, gives my skin that smoother look, and prevent breakouts for the most part. I love that there is now a larger size available! I have quite a stash of these now (literally whenever they are on sale I purchase backups).
Do I recommend this product?
Yes! I was lucky enough to have the first tub gifted to me from Nip + Fab Au and since then I have repurchased these ever since. I cannot recommend them enough!
And that wraps up this post! Have you guys tried the Nip+Fab night extreme pads? Are you into chemical or physical exfoliants? Drop a comment and let’s have a chat! I hope you all have a great day and I’ll see you next time. x B
