Too Faced ‘Born this way’ Full coverage concealer | This brand knows how to make base products well

Good morning beautiful humans! It’s pretty obvious by now that I have an obsession with Too Faced products – especially their base products. The born this way foundation is one of my all-time favorite foundations so when they launched the concealer version, you guys know I had to pounce on that band-wagon.

Now I’m going to tell you all about this concealer, if you are curious – keep reading!

What are the claims of this product?

This concealer claims to have hydrating formula while still being full coverage. It covers up blemishes, dark circles, and redness with a crease-free, natural finish. It highlights, sculpts, and smooths the skin for a flawless finish. It has a flash-back free formulation infused with a blend of coconut water, alpine rose, (radiance-boosting), and plumping hyaluronic acid.

Does it deliver?

On the coverage level, this concealer definitely delivers while also working as an incredible under eye concealer. The only other full coverage concealer I’m able to use under the eyes is the Tarte shape tape. This too faced concealer is hydrating, non-cakey, and just gives you a flawless under eye area!

Does it cake/crease?

Nope! You have a flawless, smooth, hydrated, and plumped under the eye area when using this concealer. Keep in mind this can vary depending on your individual under-eye situation. For me personally, I have a deep-set crease under each eye – all concealers crease there so that’s normal. But this concealer doesn’t crease elsewhere or enhance the appearance of fine lines as long as I am quick to set it with powder.

Formula / Coverage / Longevity?

The formula is hydrating, creamy, and melts into the skin. It doesn’t dry up or go crusty throughout the day and make you look super-aged under the eyes. Full coverage (I still pair it with a corrector – as I do with all concealers). This concealer wears really nicely throughout the day. I of course always set my under-eye concealer with powder and that will always help with longevity.

Finish

The finish is natural – not overly dewy but not completely matte for it to be drying.

Easy to use /How does it apply?

It applies quite easily, I blend out concealer with the beauty blender so I don’t find it goes streaky or cakey upon application.

Shade range?

This concealer comes in 20 shades and they run slightly warm toned.

Packaging?

A chubby glass tube with a large dome foot applicator.

How much does it cost?

$42 AUD

How much product do you get?

15 ml

Where to purchase it?

Mecca, Too faced site, Cult beauty, Selfridges, BeautyLish, Sephora US

Rating?

8.5 / 10

Pros:
  • Hydrating
  • Provides flawless coverage
  • Doesn’t cake up or crease too much
  • You get a lot of product and it’s a decent price point
  • Shade range is also decent
Cons:
  • You will need to set it quickly as it’s quite hydrating
  • Those who have a super fair skin tone may struggle to find a shade light enough for under the eyes.
Overall thoughts?

I love this concealer and that’s no surprise. It is quite similar to shape tape only you get more product, it’s more hydrating and thinner in the formula. I wouldn’t call them dupes but if there are many similarities.

Would I recommend this to you / repurchase

I definitely do recommend this concealer! It’s a good one in regards to good coverage without looking overly cakey. I can see myself repurchase it eventually but it’s not one I would back up. Maybelline concealers are what I typically back up

And that wraps up the post. Have you guys tried out this concealer or any products from Too Faced? What concealer are you currently loving? Drop a comment and let me know! I hope you all have the best day and I’ll see you in the next post. x B

I’ve always had luck with Too Faced base products. I loved their original Born this way foundation but over the yes fell out of love with it. Now their new born this way MATTE foundation is my new favourite over the original

I’ve had a sample of this concealer once and didn’t really like it but I keep thinking that the full-size version might be better (I mean, I don’t always trust samples and I sometimes have them laying around for a while so they could be dried out or expired I guess). I might just give it another go in the future!

It’s definitely a lovely concealer and I agree I can never be sure from a sample if I love products. Brands need to seel more mini products that give you more than the average sample.
