The Best Affordable Makeup I’ve Tried

Well hello there gorgeous humans!

Despite the fact my Instagram feed depicts a lot of luxury makeup products – I’m a drugstore gal at heart and today I want to tell you about what I’ve tried that gets a 10/10 from me!

You’ll be seeing these types of posts as often as possible because if there is any awesome drugstore makeup out there – I will be telling you guys about it!

So let’s get started!

Colour pop pressed powder eye shadows

The color pop shadows have seriously increased the standard I expect from affordable eyeshadows. They are pigmented AF, so easy to blend! Literally, the best shadows to start with if you are beginning with eyeshadow. They have every shade and every color story. This is a brand to try, especially their eyeshadows!

Maybelline ‘The Falsies’ Lash lift mascara

Best brand for affordable mascaras. Up until I tried this one, the angel push-up mascara was my favorite from them (I still love that one). This mascara gives you super dramatic lashes! Length, volume, and curl – what more could you ask for.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible wear ‘stay fresh’ foundation

Easily in my top 5 foundations of all time! This foundation easily outranks so many high-end foundations I’ve tried. It covers so well, applies so easily, and still looks like skin and it lasts all day. There aren’t many foundations I can wear for work that will look good all day and not budge. I cannot say enough good things about it.

Colour pop ‘super shock’ shadows

They are super pigmented, creamy and glide onto the skin. I do prefer the shimmery shadows over the mattes. Being that they are cream shadows the mattes do dry out quicker over time and in general when it comes to cream shadows I prefer to stick to shimmers. They apply better with you finger and the finishes are gorgeous!

Nyx setting sprays

They are finely misted, there’s a matte and dewy option and they dewy setting spray freshens up the face so well. The setting sprays settle down the powdery look to the skin so well. They are seriously underrated but the bottles are only 60 ml and that does annoy me.

Physician’s formula butter bronzer

I have loved this bronzer for YEARS! It basically made me become a bronzer addict It’s sheer but buildable and well and truly goof proof! It works so well for fair skin tones and has a pretty sheen to it – not shimmery but it isn’t matte either so it gives your complexion an natural bronze

Color pop Sol bronzing balm – light

Pigmented, creamy and blendable. You get a lot of product and being a balm your brush doesn’t get saturated in product. It lasts well on the skin and is a top quality cream bronzer

Maybelline age rewind concealer

I have been loving this concealer since I first got into makeup. Every time I forget about, when I rediscover it I fall in love all over again. It covers well, blends super quickly and is just convenient to slap on. It’s an awesome concealer for work and I have several backups!

Wet n Wild Highlighter

Super glowy but not glittery or shimmery, gives an intense beam of light but is still wearable for the day time. The packaging is blah but the highlighter itself is so good!

Colour pop ‘No filter’ concealer

For a matte concealer it works so well under the eyes! It covers well, blends out well and doesn’t crease too much. This has seriously impressed me.

Rimmel lash accelerator mascara

I have loved this concealer for years! It’s the only mascara from Rimmel that I personally love (the others just clump and transfer on me). It has a long skinny plastic wand and seriously makes your lashes look so long and dramatic – very dramatic! The wand also makes it so mess-free and easy to apply.

Morphe setting spray

The finest mist you will ever try! It settles down the powdery look to your complexion so well. I feel like this setting spray does a bomb job at getting rid of the powdery look. If your base is looking questionable, this can definitely help correct that. I do have many favorite setting sprays but this is definitely one of the best ones at removing the powdery look to the skin!

Revolution Pro lustre cream shadows

Super creamy and pigmented AF, it is easy to apply and literally feels like butter

Makeup Revolution ‘Conceal & Define’ concealer

Hydrating, super easy to blend and covers nicely. It sits under the eyes well and comes in so many shades and even a super-size version.

And that wraps up this post! Have you guys tried any of the products mentioned above? Are there any products I left out? Drop a comment and let’s get chatting! I hope you all have an awesome day, I love you guys and I’ll see you next time! x B

I can’t believe I’ve not tried most of these! However, I love the formula and colour of the butter bronzer, just wish they did an unscented version!

Agree! Fragrance in makeup is unnecessary.
