Here’s a fun little fact about me and empties posts – when it comes to photographing them – I procrastinate. Any blogger knows photographing empties posts can be messy! There’s always one product that despite being used up somehow leaks over everything and causes a mess. Add to the fact there is no real flattering way of photographing what is essentially your garbage and high level of procrastination is unlocked!
I of course took it to a new level by going almost 10 months and the thing that finally made me do it was that I was sick of staring at my bag of used up products in my room and sick of seeing it on my to-do list every week.
So here we are! This is by NO MEANS quick read. So bring snacks, beverages and let your loved ones know where you are because this is going to be a long one! another fun fact when writing this mammoth of post the sun was rising so I was squinting quite a lot while writing this and possibly burned a retina – I digress!
Let’s get started already~
I used this as a morning cleanser, it did the job, smelt like oranges (which I liked) but it didn’t wow me in any way. I won’t be repurchasing it.
Such a freaking good cleansing oil. Basically all the cleansing oils I love are on the affordable end and this one gets extra brownie points for not only being awesome but for coming in a good size. I go through cleansing oils quite quickly as I always use them in the double cleanse method. One to check out and I’ve already repurchased.
You can’t go wrong with hyaluronic acid, this one you could tell was fancier, light-weight and less sticky. It gave my skin the extra boost under my moisturizer but it is on the pricey end. I wouldn’t rush to repurchase it as nothing stood out remarkably well and hyaluronic acid has a lot more affordable options.
Finely misted, felt glorious on the skin and very luxe. It definitely adds a TLC step to your skincare and helps you unwind as well as pack some extra moisture back into your skin. I really really liked it. I won’t be repurchasing it now but it will be an eventual repurchase.
This primer falls in the BOUJEE category! It hydrates the skin and provides the skin with some firmness for foundation to go over it really well. BUT it was heavily fragranced and contained not many ideal ingredients – for a hefty price tag. I liked it but I have other primers I like way more. This won’t be a repurchase.
I was so excited when this came to Australia as I freaking love the hydro boost range but this one disappointed. The main thing that bugged me is the way the mist was released. You basically could guarantee both your hairline and clothes to get soaked and that just plain and simply annoyed me. This won’t be repurchased.
This was a lovely hyaluronic acid serum and wasn’t overly sticky. It’s more budget friendly but it isn’t widely available and I wouldn’t go out of my way to repurchase it from the brands website. If it became available in more places I would repurchase it.
My second tube of this bad boy kindly gifted to me by Pixi. What I don’t like are the actual rose petals which don’t blend well or dissolve in the serum leaving you with red lumps you need to wipe off your face. Aside from that it’s a perfectly nice product which I use more so as a serum than an “essence”. It didn’t blow me away so I won’t be purchasing it for myself.
If you follow me over on Instagram, you’ll know the love/hate obsession I have with this brand; the hate aspect being for the awkward packaging matched with the formula of the products. This is one of the few products that had a non-irritating packaging. It’s hydrating, sinks in well, gives your skin a glow and is just such a lovely moisturiser. I will be repurchasing this down the line.
This isn’t a moisturizer or brand I would have picked out for myself but that’s the awesome thing of being lucky enough to work with brands occasionally – you try products you wouldn’t normally go for. Most night creams don’t agree with my skin; they’re too heavy and cause my skin to erupt in a lot of bumps and congestion. This one is super nourishing and packs the skin with hydration while still being light-weight. The consistency is a cross between a gel-moisturizer and a whipped moisturizer. I purchased a new tub for myself. Fun side note since I run out of this, I’ve recently opened the second tub – I’m in love all over again and definitely want to repurchase it for a third time!
A lovely concealer. It sits nicely under the eyes, covers well, doesn’t cake but since trying other makeup revolution concealers, I have others I prefer over this one. I have a few more backups to use up but I prefer their 16 hour wear concealer over this one so I won’t be repurchasing it anymore. |REVIEW|
I’ve gone through countless jars. Originally it was gifted to me but since then I have repurchased constantly! I cannot do my makeup without this jar of goodness. I’m low key paranoid they’ve discontinued it so I purchased like 5 jars from cult beauty. I love this! |REVIEW|
The formula was a cross between a cleansing balm and jelly – it removed the makeup really well and left the skin feeling nourished without an annoying residue. My pickle with this product is I found it really hard to get product out; you had to squeeze very hard to get product out. While I enjoyed it, it wasn’t mind blowing so I won’t be repurchasing it.
I have used several bottles of this and will continue to do so. It make a difference to my hair, minimizes frizz and smooths things out. I’ve almost run out of another bottle and I’ve repurchased a backup.
I find that Benefit is the only brand worth going high end for when it comes to mascaras. I’ve tried all their mascaras and loved them and this is one of my favourites. It gives the lashes, lengths, volume and holds a curl so well. I love love love it! I’ve already repurchased it. |REVIEW|
A lovely light-weight moisturiser which doesn’t have an annoying scent or sticky feeling to it. I love this skincare brand and this moisturiser was a win. I do bounce between moisturizers a lot – it takes something extraordinary for me to want to repurchase a moisturizer. I’d place this in the maybe pile – I liked it but I won’t rush to repurchase.
I never really used ceramides before this as I get nervous around any hydrating products that may be too heavy for my skin. This is because when my skin comes across a heavy moisturizer it erupts in texture – it just can’t handy anything to rich. I’ve since learned ceramides, especially a ceramide cream isn’t necessarily rich but gives the skin a barrier to help it not lose moisture from the weather. So this has become my go-to for winter and it can also be used for summer! If you have struggled to find a moisturizer you want to use as a “night cream” but don’t want anything heavy – this is it. I’ve repurchased it myself a second time.
This moisturizer is the equivalent of having a drink of cold water when you’re very thirsty! My skin just drinks it up and holds in moisture so well! It’s so thin and almost water like but thicker than a serum. I freaking loved this stuff and when it goes on sale I will be repurchasing it.
These were nice and did the job of minimizing my skin’s texture and preventing any breakouts from escalating but I find that my Nip+Fab night time extreme pads do the same thing if not slightly better. So I won’t be repurchasing these particular ones.
This setting spray is perfect for if your foundation is looking crusty or you have over powdered! It has the finest mist ever and doesn’t leave your skin wet and at risk of getting streaks in your foundation. I already have repurchased it – it’s a favourite amongst my setting spray line up!
The cleansing oil that started my obsession! It’s nourishing, it removes makeup so well and doesn’t leave much of a residue behind. If you have more combo leaning oily skin you may not like this one but I promise you it’s so lovely at removing makeup! It will be an eventual repurchase!
This cleanser is refreshing, cleansing, hydrating. I am the pickiest human when it comes to my AM cleanser because I want my skin to feel super clean but not stripped at all – this ticks both boxes. I’ve gone through 2 tubes in total and I’ll eventually repurchase it but I do prefer my fresh soy cleanser slightly more.
I feel like at this point you guys are used to seeing this product in my empties – keep getting used to it because it’s my go-to for my AM exfoliant. I have repurchased this many times as well as having it gifted to me. It’s such a staple in my skincare routine and I cannot recommend it enough! |REVIEW|
I don’t use micellar water to take off the bulk of my makeup but after double cleansing I do use it for my neck and hairline where makeup residue remains. This one is gentle on my skin, doesn’t break me out and comes in a decent size. I will be repurchasing this!
Seeing as I loved the night cream I was curious about the day moisturizer from the same range. I wasn’t crazy about it. I did use it up but it didn’t do anything particularly amazing, it was hydrating but it did have a weird over powering scent. Aside from that it wasn’t anything exciting; I won’t be repurchasing it.
This is quite an underrated setting spray. It’s finely misted, keeps your make fresh for a decent amount of time and just makes your complexion look like skin. My pet peeve is that the bottle is so small; but word on the street is that they’ve launched a bigger size so once I use up a few setting sprays, this will be an eventual repurchase.
I love this brand and have so many favourites from them BUT this particular product was an absolute fail! At first I was enjoying the serum but after 2 months in, the product turned into this jelly and I could get any product from the dropper. I’ve since read reviews to figure out if I just had a bad batch or it was the product – many others have experienced the same thing – I had to declutter it. I really hope they fix the formula because it has potential.
It’s no surprise why this is such a classic staple product. While I lean more towards cleansing oils over balms (in any situation where I would be required to do my skincare outside my home e.g. travel I would not pack a cleansing oil with me because that’s a recipe for disaster. This cleansing balm removed the makeup so well, was gentle, scent-free and didn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. It also lasts well and a little goes a long way. This will definitely be a repurchase!
My go to chemical exfoliant for my PM routine. It packs a punch but doesn’t burn my face off and it’s at a recent price point goes on sale often (which is when I stock up on multiple tubs). Love this and will continue to repurchase it. |REVIEW|
I think this is my second tube of this cleanser (I’m starting to lose count). I am very picky with my AM cleansers and this one is easily my favourite. I can see why it’s raved about by so many. It cleans the skin so well but in no way does it strip your skin and dry it out. It has a subtle smell of cucumber and I just freaking love it! I’ve already repurchased it + a backup as well! |REVIEW|
I’m fairly new to the Vitamin C game but this one I loved! It was hydrating as well as brightening and of course it smelt incredible. My skin just looked happier when I was using this serum though it is quite expensive. I’m still dabbling with Vitamin C serums to see what else is out there but I do see myself repurchasing this eventually.
And that wraps up this very lengthy post! I will try to not go insanely long between empty posts to save me from writing a novel each time. Have you spotted any of your favourite products in today’s posts? What were they? I hope you guys all have an awesome day and I’ll see you next time. xB
